Nothing valuable in timelines as always.
Even last modified date in ECAS is still mid december.
They do PPRs before updating ECAS nowadays, so focus on email, not ECAS.

Good luck to all, it was really stressful for my family to wait all that long, we were literally on the edge emotionally and finally it is over.
When we all become PRs, please do a good thing, make your best to eliminate these unreasonable processing times, speak about it.
Too many people are suffering for no reason here.

Looking at GCMS notes, it becomes really clear that all checks could be done in parallel just in 1-2 months, not 12-15 months.
12-15 months happens only because of bad management, not because of good reasons.
Very true. Thats why some of the visa offices could complete the applications in 2-3 months of file transfer when some of the visa office take more than a year or two to do the same processing even though the candidates are from the same complicated (more security concerned/visited countries).
Even if we take EE for every one the application gets completed within 6 months that means they are going to use the same system for them too to do the all kinds of x, y & z verification but i think that some visa offices are not actively coming back to check back the responses due to volume of applications for paper based.

I think we still have visa offices that take more that 15 months which is more horrible. Even though they combined the processing times on website, dont know if they are going to share the applications for processing among visa office and try to reduce the timelines, let us see.

while my friend got whole processing done in just 5 month, some others who submitted before him asked about their files...the cic agent told that they were experimenting a few set of random files from ___ to ___ no and processed them faster..just a pilot project to prove that they can work fast..what does that mean? if they work efficiently, we all could save a lot from our time, money and future as well...but they consider only their time as valuable, not ours...bitter truth..

Congratulations to all that got PPR's today. Hopefully CIC keeps the daily activity going. I got vacation plans for mid Feb which is probably gonna go down the drain if I don't get PPR this week. Good Luck Y'all

How you going to make up the plans? I heard that no one will be allowed to enter Canada if they don't have PR card with them.
For that you need to have permanent resident travel document which you can only apply outside of Canada.

Hi Gagan,

From what I understand, if you have a regular visitor visa to go along with your COPR, you can re-enter Canada. I will be applying for a visitor visa soon. I might be wrong. Anyone know if that is possible?

I know its unrelated question but does anyone know if we can quit job after landing or do we have to stay at one job till we get PR card.

Also if somebody cud again repost the detailed list of docx we need to carry for incanada or border landing, wud b gr8!

Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You dont need PR card to live there, its just a travel document. PR card doesnt maintain PR status. So its up to you if you want to quit or you want to work or you want to take a break for sometime before going to work, its your call, your freedom of choice :D.

Can we know your full timeline? Did you receive ppr?

Congrats to all who got DM and PPr, :)

I received an email yesterday from CIC which they asked me to send them my masters' degree field of study and detailed CV/Resume, my supervisor names. Do you guys have ever heard that?
Its so tough that you are waiting to get DM , but new scenario is beginning:(

Looks like they want to make sure that the information you provided in your application is correct before they take a decision. ..

I dont think you should worry too much if you have everything they are asking..

Good luck!

5 months under paper PNP? that's incredible.

In CIC's annual report and plans published in Nov 2015, they have stated that they will work on reducing PNP process time, while meeting promise of 6 month process for EE. So the pilot project works, that means they are making positive changes. And I see using barcode forms are a major upgrade.
