just wondering if anyone here got PR that's visa exempt ?
Or Is it all people that have to send in there passports ?
If you are coming from a visa-exempt country, you will receive COPR, no passport request

Yes I know that
I'm just wondering if anyone had received COPR or was it just people getting e mails

Please advise!

I sent my passport yesterday and I am expecting to get my passport back in February. The thing is, I already bought flight tickets to visit my country in early March and my friend said that I can't go out of Canada until I get PR Card, otherwise it will be hard to enter Canada after the vacation.

What is the next step after I receive my passport back? do I need to go to border to get landing visa and wait until PR Card is mailed? I was checking CIC website and it says permanent residents need to carry PR card or permanent resident travel document (PRTD) when boarding a flight to Canada, or travelling to Canada on any other commercial carrier.

If I can use PRTD instead of PR Card, do you guys know how long it will take to get the PRTD?
I was so happy that I got PPR yesterday but it is still frustrating as I don't know if I can go to see my family or not :'(
If you guys could give me any advise, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you! Have a nice weekend :)

Your Solution is simple. Don't go to border. With the Passport there will be a landing document. usually the landing deadline will depend upon the expiry of your medical. Consider you did your medical on May 2015. They give you deal line to enter Canada or Cross Border before May 2016.

So, The Point is you can go to your home county with all these documents. Come before I.e May for example. Then you can do the Pr procedures. Which makes you 0 Issue,

I also sent you a private message. Thank you reply.

Congrats on your PPR. Wouldn't you mind sharing your timeline with us whose still waiting. Also, do you have dependants with your application.
Thanks a lot!!!

we sent our papers on friday and it should be in Ottawa on tuesday.
we are from visa-exempt country and we got ppr not copr, only difference is that we dont need to send passports, instead of that they ask for copy of first page with all information and any other page that was changed (stamps from other countrys if you have it)...

I sent my passport for visa and plan to cross the border after getting it. How can I re enter without pr card if I want to travel after completing landing procedures.

I read about PRTD(Permanent resident travel document) online on cic's website. Does any body have experience with that?

They asked us in Aug just for bio data page !!

Does that mean we might have to send in other pages too ?

Hey Guys

Can anyone say if it is that you have to land before your medical expires.
Its the visa date.

So I have a doubt. Jan 19th applicant, which hopefully will see my PPR soon.

My permit expires on Feb 14th, but I'm waiting until the end to renew it in case my PPR arrives earlier.

But what happens if i get PPR let's say next week, I send my passport (and my wife's), and they take 3 weeks to return it (passing the date of Feb 14th).

WHat do you do then? Would seem weird to have to renew you permit when you already got request for passports, but at same time my permit would be expired..

Anyone ?
