now news yet....no new is gud news(untill its geting on ur nerves)....m worried...what took them so long as i have submitted my pcc of old and new name....praying everyday.... :(

I guess I agree with you here, It most probably is the time it takes by local authorities (Indian Passport) to do the verification vs. say chinese. Its how quick your local office responds. Unfortunately, we have to wait it out. I know its extremely frustrating but we can hardly help can we. We can only speculate whats happening and other than that just pray and hope that one day they respond and this wait gets over, and it's our turn.

Its great to see some good news in this thread!!! This helps everyone stay positive and patient!
Does anyone know about any Indian Passport holder getting PPR from Ottawa in the recent months and what their timelines where like? I am told that the background check (which depends on nationality and travel) takes a while and that is the bottleneck in the whole process. This I understand is not in CiC's control. I am trying to see how the timelines for an Indian Passport holder would fare against lets say a Chinese Passport holder? Most of the people who got their PPR were Chinese passport holders so I am assuming there background check process is faster. Any thoughts?

Wait! Thats all we can do...
I just wanted to be able to estimate a time period for the wait.... because this as it seems is independent of CiC and this process hasn't changed in a while. So we could look at other peoples time from the past etc. I was told through the MPs office that it would take something like 12 to 14 months for the background check in India. That worries me...

if you look at the applications filed in India in this CIO tracksheet, they only took 4-6 moths to get visa stamped. But not all of them follow the same time pattern. But if some applicants in India only took 4-6 months, that sent signals that the processing is not difficult at all, technically. It really is a matter of personal situation, which varies from one to another. However, if you have a "simple" history, and provided a complete application, 4-6 moths is the time to take. Beyond that, case by case. There is also the difference in where you filed your applications to: Ottawa or New-deli.
