just got back from my vacation and read this great news, am so glad!!
is that GCMS notes really affecting the process?
I only sent them an email and got the reply that they are unable to provide a status update to me, not so good news :'(

GCMS serves as a reminder for some, only some, not all, lousy guys to say, "oh my GOD, how can I forget this guy application!" Then everything derailed back to track. Bottom line: no hurts. may not be informative, but may be critical. you never know. I think the GCMS officers should have some connections and communications with the officers in charge of your case.

Does anyone know about any Indian Passport holder getting PPR from Ottawa in the recent months and what their timelines where like? I am told that the background check (which depends on nationality and travel) takes a while and that is the bottleneck in the whole process. This I understand is not in CiC's control. I am trying to see how the timelines for an Indian Passport holder would fare against lets say a Chinese Passport holder? Most of the people who got their PPR were Chinese passport holders so I am assuming there background check process is faster. Any thoughts?

Hi JonMonc;

Instead of nationality, it really depends on which countries you have traveled to before. So, if you have lots of travels to many countries, this background check should be done for all those countries. Also, this process is done by some private agencies.
That is true ! This is the main step for getting PPR.
We have to be patient.

I got my medical request today under AINP family and they are asking me to send experience and education certificate. Do they really ask them with medical and PPR and should I send just copies or original? Nothing is mentioned in mail about original or copies.

Even I have applied under AINP (NDVO) and I was asked eduction and experience certificates along with MR/PPR. I gave attested copies of eduction and exp letters.

Last week , I received an email from Ottawa requesting information about the relationship between us and the family connection in Alberta.
They requested to reply back by email.

This means that they just started to work on file. so frustrated!!!!!!!! don't know how long it would take.
