Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi.

We acknowledge that our office has received your original passport(s) for this application.

Due to the high volume of correspondence received by this office, it generally takes several days following receipt to process passports and place them on file. The file is then directed to the attention of a processing team for a review to take place to ensure all requirements have been met for the application to move to the next steps in processing.

This file is currently pending review by the responsible processing team and a decision by the officer. As soon as that review has taken place, our office will contact the applicants if any further documentation or information is required.

Please note that all statutory requirements must be met before we can issue visas. We therefore cannot provide you with a precise date by which this application will be finalized and the passports returned. Your continued patience is appreciated. Rest assured that we give the highest processing priority to cases which are ready for visa issuance for which passports have been submitted. Until we contact the applicant or authorized representative, either to request additional documents or information or to return the passports, we will not be able to respond to further enquiries.

Processing times to finalization may vary depending on the number of new applications received and the individual complexity of each application. Applicants can check the status of their case on the CIC website by clicking on Client Application Status: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en . @manu .. really dificult to decipher where you are stuck from their mail... usually from other forums I see they mention BC checks as delay reason ... in your case I feel its waiting for someone's inputs ???? not sure though ... anyway hope you get through soon .. I too have some very good travel history because of my job duties/posting in US and europe .. I am into IT ..so cannot say no to travelling to those countries ... though it was good to earn and travel see those countries but believe will have to take the hit in processing times here ... lets see how it goes ... keep us updated on how your's goes .. ... I am on believing april tracker ...just to add I started this process way back in early 2009 ..so 4 years almost and still hoping to close this soon ....... hope we all get there soon ... Cheers!!!

yeah they are Indians and are in Canada.Actually they applied through SINP (student) category. And definitely its weird and even we didn't get any logic behind this that why they sent PPR thru postal mail!!!

Anyways they are more than happy as they got their PPRS.

Hello everyone,

For CPP-Ottawa applicants, if I am not wrong who had medicals in April/May are getting Passport requests?

i submitted my medicals on 1st of may and I am still waiting for my PPR

I believe there are couple of more guys here like "shadyhasan" "pari" and one more, we all have almost the same medical submission dates between march /april, and we all are waiting for PPR

I hope more people get news from Ottawa this week and next. Its interesting that few of them are getting their PPR through regular mail now. There are few whose medicals were done is feb and march and the ecas status shows inprocess. I wonder if Ottawa has adopted a more lean process (skipping inprocess status altogether and perhaps starting background checks earlier) for applicants after. Lets hope things move faster this week.

i tried to do that same as well and i came out 2 conclusions

the first : the officer could be just lazy officer or busy or those kind of officers that check every thing more than twice and i have seen that with my of my friends (the officer asked her to send the finger prints 3 times and the police clearance from Egypt twice)

the second : that my name is similar to other person's name that may have a criminal record or so and i have seen that also (my friend got his PPR after 2 years of the medical :S)

thats what i think...because i consider the PPR for me and you as Late but not too late i guess
