Congrats canam123! The Officer at the Port of Entry (landing) office will collect it once u re-enter in Canada as a permanent resident. Make sure you take your work permit with you when u go for the landing procedure.

Also, I have a question for you. I see here u paid ur RFRF in April, were you asked to pay the fees? were you also asked to update your personal history since the application date? If so, was there any officer's code at the end of that request letter or it simply said DOCQSW?

I am willing to know coz I received a request letter and unfortunately I didnt see any officer's code so im guessing, an officer wasnt assigned to my application at that time.

It seems that we are on the same boat; however, my ecas got in process quite late. It got in process on june 28 and I received a request letter from them on april 10, I hope they started the background check 3 months ago and not on june 28. Any thoughts on that????

One question, do i need to send my current work permit (stapled page) as well with passport or should i keep it separate before sending passport. Any idea?

@ Pari123..... I think you are right and you should wait for your new passport. They have asked you to provide them a copy of your valid passport. And I guess a passport is valid if it is not expiring in the next 6 months. When is your current passport expiring? If it has 6 months of validity on it, perhaps you can send them a copy. However, I doubt CPP-O needs that. They already have it.

Well Pari, I don't know how long your passport has to expire but the due date given to you was yesterday. it's scary because you don't know if it's for passport request. in my case, my passport has less than 6 months to expire and I submitted it. They gave me the visa to my passport expiry. I just travelled back home, renewed the passport and landed.

September is a very close one. how long do you still have to wait for the passport? I will suggest you write the officer that made the request and inform him about your passport renewal process.tell him you're currently waiting for a new one and when you are likely to receive it.I believe they will understand. getting passport is not a small thing.countries take it seriously.

An update guys,,, finally got PPR today 6th of July 2013 at like 11 AM.
Weird thing is I have a form attached in my PPR, in which I have to mention my and my spouse,eyes colour and height and there are no signatures in the bottom of the email.It just says Sincerely..nothing after that

It also says in the body of email that I have to send my PP to a PO box address at CPP-O, Ottawa.

I have sent my PP at like 2 PM on the add mentioned, now will wait for them to come back

i will prey for all of you to get PR ASAP...please let me know if I can be of any help.

One advise is...have patience, be very polite, detailed and specific in communication with CPP-O and please keep Jason Kenny office in the loop. keep emailing once every 2 to 3 months to Kenny, updating him with the status of application....

So you can't send the current one. It doesn't have enough time left on it. It would be better to wait for the new one and then send a scanned copy. Good luck.
