Passport Validity Scenario:
-------------------------------------------------------
"guys just wanna ask...my husband passport will be expired Nov. 2014, currently in our application, me and my kids already finished the medical while my husband have his another x-ray by January next year, next week we are going to mail the NBI clearance required by the immigration, if ever we will be granted visa I expected it to March or April 2014, does my husband need to renew his passport? Our dilemma is that while we are waiting for his the passport to be issued ( 1 month processing) at the same PPR will arrive.what do you think guys....?"
-------------------------------------------------------
"The validity of the visa is one year from the date of your medicals received (correct me if I am wrong here, fellow posters, or was it from med request?). So, if your visa will be given in March or April 2014, you will only have 7/8 months left instead of 1 year on your visa. Additionally, your husband will still have to renew his visa 6 months before expiring as he might not be allowed to leave the country of origin with a passport of less than six months."
"It is better to renew his passport as soon as he completed his medical examination. By the time you receive your PPR, you already have his new passport in hand. My passport expires May 2014 and I plan to renew my passport as soon as I complete my medical examination. As I am waiting for my MR. I made this decision because of several advice from senior forum mates."
