Hi Friends, I am starting this topic for all our fellow applicants who have received additional medical requests after going thru the initial medical examination. Please share your experience with us.

My situation:

My spouse was detected with a scar on the chest x-ray during the processing of her dependant visa. She was issued the visa but was advised to visit the Public Health care office when she landed in Canada. We did visit them and they asked us to take a chest x-ray again as part of immigration medical surveillance. We submitted the x-ray and within a week, received a letter that the public health care has verified the x-ray report from the lab and my spouse has been discharged from immigration medical surveillance for inactive tuberculosis and the information has been reported to CIC.

We now received the medical request as part of my CEC application process and completed the same. I told the above story to the DMP and she just took the letter which my spouse received from public health care. The results are now dispatched to CIC and I am awaiting for passport request. Just incase if I receive a medical furtherance, what would be the next steps?

Please share your experience.

Yahoo if there was any problems at all with your mess the md who completed that works would have been in contact to let you know. It's standard. Your partner was cleared so try to relax.

jsm0085, I am just trying to plan my months ahead of me incase something goes wrong because I am on a closed WP now and my project is coming to an end soon. I started this topic to get some opinion from anyone who did additional medicals as part of their application process.

Well that's why I mentioned the md will contact you in the event of any issue - to help. If anything untoward was found the md is obligated to contact you aswell as also sending results to cic.

I spoke to the public health care dept and they advised me that even if the DMP sends out the results and everything looks fine, there is a still a chance that CIC might come back asking for additonal medicals. The decision lies with CIC and not the DMP.

Correct. But anything untoward would have been brought to your attention by the dmp, if there was anytihing at all wrong.

My project might come to an end soon and if that happens, I will have to leave Canada in 2-3 months. I completed my medicals in Canada on July 22 and just incase if I don't get a passport request by then and I receive additional medicals when I am outside Canada, how do I handle the request?

Can we get the additional medicals done outside of Canada when we completed the initial medicals in Canada?

I know I am trying to be a pessimist but I am just trying to prepare for the worst...Hope everyone would understand and try to help me

If...cic ask for additional medical you can do it in any part of the world where is a md authorized by Canada, relax, don't be pessimist.

I have finally received the GCMS notes today and found that the I passed medicals and my spouse medical status says "review required".

Has anyone has the same status as this? Please please give some info if you know.

Hello,
Even if your project comes to an end, would you not qualify for a BOWP? since you have received an AOR?
Maybe you should apply for it now, if your work permit is about to end within the next 4 months.

My WP is ending in 2015 and hence I do not qualify for a BOWP.
