hi everyone! i sent my prints out 12-03-2010 from florida...they were digital...i'm not sure, but i think i just saw that they don't process digital prints...i haven't gotten a response...should i do more prints, the old fashioned way?? thanks

The FBI doesnt accept digital submission ie. sending them electronically. Digital prints on a card are good.

Did you use a credit card? If so when did they charge your credit card?
Thanks

I filed for a second background check, just in case they (Buffalo) need it.

The funny thing is, I mailed it out January 6th, and then I got a call from the FBI office on January 10th. They'd received and opened my background check request!

They called me because I mailed the background request from my office (using an office envelope), as I didn't feel like going to the post office. They were confused as to why it had my office address on the envelope. I explained that I had sent it from there, but that it was for Citizenship & Immigration Canada, not for employment purposes.

The lady was very friendly, and said "Okay! No problem, we'll begin processing this."

*shrug*

I put on the application "PLEASE RUSH - THANK YOU!!". I doubt it'll help, but it's reassuring that they actually opened my envelope, rather than it sitting in a mail room somewhere.

I also included a FedEx prepaid label. The first time around, I sent it regular mail, and it was sent back to me in about 8 weeks. I'm hoping the FedEx speeds it up a little.

I got mine yesterday. I sent it the first week of December. So about 6 weeks total time. It felt really good to open it and see the prints were legible. I was really worried.

I am on student visa here in USA and i had applied for FBI clearance on Dec 7, 2010 and received it back on Jan 18, 2011.

We are about to finally send our application next week, but my partner's FBI check is almost a year old, so I think we will need to get a new one.

We are in the Ottawa area. Does anyone have advice on where best to get fingerprints done in Ottawa-Gatineau.

Received at the FBI on January 10th 2011 and he got it back today February 5 2011. Yaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy the final step before we file, now he is sending the package Monday or Tuesday and we can finally get the application filed!!!!

We sent ours last week of November and got it back Jan 17th. They took the fee's out mid-december from our credit card

My husbands was sent December 27, his card was charged January 22 and we got it in the mail today Feb 9th. So 6.5 weeks total. That definitely beats the 12 weeks they say it can take.

I am amazed at how fast we got my husband's FBI clearance back!

Received by FBI 1/10/11
Returned 1/27/2011 with no records found
The letter is dated 1/31/11 and we received it today but it was probably in our box for a few days because we don't check it everyday!

Perhaps they are speeding up the process, we were sure expecting to wait a lot longer based on what I have read on this forum.

I am not sure if what we did had anything to do with the faster processing but I will share what we did.
Had fingerprints done at local police station and paid for 2 sets of prints. The fingerprint technician test scanned the prints to make sure they looked good.
We sent both fingerprint cards and a note that said we were sending 2 just in case one didn't work.
We also requested 2 copies of the FBI report and paid for both with 2 separate Western Union Money Orders (so they could be tracked). We will keep the second copy in case the first one gets lost or something.

Hope everyone else here gets theirs back as quick as we did!

Hello everyone. I've just sent my prints off to the FBI. Just wondered if anyone has a recent example of timings. :)
