I have sent FBI request on March15th,2011.
Now the waiting begins.

My prints arrived at FBI on March 19th... awaiting game begins for me too :

I mailed two sets of fingerprints on January 20, 2011...

and got back my police certificate EXACTLY 7 weeks later on March 9, 2011.

FBI received my prints via FedEx early Feb 2011 and they charged my card on the 8th. I had sent them a FedEx waybill to return as I live in the British Virgin Islands and post is ridiculously slow. I started to get a suspicion around early March that maybe they had sent it via snail mail against my requests. I sent them an alternate address on the afternoon of 9 March.... and what do you know, they alredy sent it USPS to my BVI PO box that very morning! I freaked out, knowing it was the last document I needed to complete my packet and could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to arrive but slowly calmed down and resolved to just send it anyway with a letter and proof it was on its way.

On 24 March (my birthday!) I was heading to FedEx to drop off my application and decided to stop at my PO box.... low and behold, there was the envelope. Best birthday present this year! I was shocked by how efficient the whole thing was......

This meant sound silly but just curious to know.

Can someone from the US go to the Police Station in Ontario to obtain a fingerprint then send it to FBI?

Not silly at all. I sent my fingerprints to the FBI from the UK.

Well we had to request a new FBI cert for a rehabilitation application Prints were received March 28th and we have a deadline of May 15 to get the application in to Buffalo so they can process it and then process our PR app. I tried the prepaid Fedex return envelope so keeping fingers crossed.

For those who have gotten there print from FBI, pls Advice

Do i have to include the FBI application form with the print collected from the Police Department?

As for the address, do i put my current address where live now or my former address in US? Bcos im cuurently living in canada not US at this moment.

Get you prints done at your local police station. You can use the local fingerprint card or the one that the FBI supply on the website. Once you have your prints, you need to print off and fill in the FBI application form from the FBI website and send it off with your fingerprints attached plus your payment. You can download a credit card payment form from the site.

You use your current address as this is where your police cert will be return to. Attach a cover letter with a brief explanation of why you need the police cert.

Here's hoping this means the FBI processing time has decreased. They received our prints on March 28 and my credit card was charged Apr 7 (was less than $18 thanks to the CDN dollar!). We are on a tight deadline so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The received my prints on March 19th and credit card was charged on April 4th... looks like we are on similar timelines... however, I'm in Scotland, UK, so might take a bit longer to reach me. Hope you hear back in time for your deadline. Good luck

I received a response from the FBI today - April 18th it only took 4 weeks and that includes the time it took to mail the results back to the UK... Pretty speedy! Next step for me is waiting for the results to arrive from Australia... 3 weeks and counting so far... 8)
