We received ours 8 weeks to the day...now to send them off with our file number and client ID to Buffalo
:)

Anyone else get the new form to fill out for the cover sheet? Before it was just a letter now it's a nice sized form to fill out. Do we have to include return postage now?

I don't know about the new form, but I included a Self addressed stamped envelope with my request and it was mailed back in a big manila envelope with my SASE inside. The FBI rap sheet wasn't even in the envelope! So return postage probably isn't important.

Request sent on Oct 15th , called today and they received on Oct 22, in process

I mailed my first request (fingerprints done at the local police station) with USPS standard Sep. 29th and they received it Oct. 4th. I did a bank check so I could not track when they started to process it. They letter says returned on Nov. 11th the stamp on the envelope was on Nov. 19th and I received it today. Result: "No arrest record"
Total time from sending to receiving exactly 8 weeks.
In case they could not read my prints I wanted to make sure that I do not waste too much time so I sent a second set of fingerprints (this time with FedEx) processed electronically and printed on paper on Nov 2nd, the FBI received it Nov3rd.
this time I chose the credit card as payment form and they took the money on Friday Nov. 19th. Now I wonder when I will get the answer this time.
I also wrote on the application form and on the envelope that I understand there is no expedite service but that I would need it for immigration papers and that there is a time limit and that I would appreciate an answer by Nov. 30st.

Hope this helps

Does anyone know the number where my wife can call about her fingerprints? Thanks

My prints were received at the FBI on Thurs, Oct 21, my husband got my results back today, Thurs Dec 9. Exactly 7 weeks.

We had a second set of prints done:

Received: Oct 27/10
Returned: Dec 1/10
Date of letter: Dec 13/10
Received in mail: Dec 20/10

That's about 6.5 weeks processing and one week in the mail.

Can someone tell me if I need to send a prepaid postage with my background check? Thanks.

No, you do not need to send prepaid postage. We have sent in 4 prints and never any prepaid postage. The results just get mailed back in the regular mail. Some people send a prepaid fedex envelope so the return is faster and can be tracked.

oh okay, thanks a lot. One less thing to pay for. :)

hi everyone! i sent my prints out 12-03-2010 from florida...they were digital...i'm not sure, but i think i just saw that they don't process digital prints...i haven't gotten a response...should i do more prints, the old fashioned way?? thanks

I believe that digital prints are accepted as long as they are printed onto the prescribed FBI card. I am sure you can find posts about it back in this thread.

k..thank you! they were printed on he police station's card..it looks identical to the FBI's card, only it's a "card" and not a piece of paper
