Please Help.Student visa and OWP for spouse

Hi guys,
Please someone clarify to me my issues.I have got admission to do my masters in eng in Quebec for winter 2014.I have applied for CAQ.I want to apply for student permit for myself and OWP for my spouse,my question is whether i can apply for both at the same time.Should i fill separate study permit form and OWP for my spouse,if yes what details should i put in both forms for my spouse.Please someone reply as i have got only 2 months left for the course to begin

u can apply together or separate not much difference ...u have to show adequate proof of funds to support u and ur spouse ...what details about the form ru asking?

Thanks Mead for the reply,Iam applying for study permit from USA as an int. student.I do have enough proof just as they have mentioned.Will i spouse be provided with OWP straightaway when i file for my study permit.Kindly send me ur mail id so that i can mail u in detail.Thanks once again

no u will have to apply for ur spouse OWP.

Mead,Now that i have only 2 more months and that i have not yet received my CAQ
(it will take 2 weeks),will the CIC people speed up the process to approve my visa.In general in LA the processing time is 9 weeks.Also if my spouse gets OWP should he resign his job here and join along with me to enter Canada by Jan 2014?

no they dont speed up their process they take what ever time they need.....what is ur nationality? ru an american? the decision to resign should be urs and ur spouses I cannot comment on it....just be careful getting a job in canada is not a piece of cake.... i think jobs in US r easier than canada but its just my opinion

yes ur spouse can enter anytime as long as the visa is valid .....again remember in quebec it is not as easy to find a good job unless u know french

wow mead that is a good info,so can my spouse apply for jobs from here in USA and then catch up with me in Canada,also can he stay in a different province other than quebec if he gets OWP and i stay in Quebec for studying
