I was wandering if the photographs we submit, as well as other things that hold obvious sentimental value to us, will be returned.

Also, I will be submitting our wedding invitation. If the invitation has Korean script, does it have to be translated? One of the forms has my wife's name in Korean letters so it should be easy to just match.

Lastly, just how many photos should be submitted? I would think 20 is a reasonable number that could show the continuity of our marriage over 15 years.

As a rule, don't submit anything to CIC that you would really miss if it weren't returned. Send copies of invitations and cards if you don't want to lose them. I sent copies of my proof, and included a letter stating that I was keeping the originals for sentimental reasons, but that I could send them if required, so long as they were returned to me. CIC never asked.

It varies by visa office. I didn't get anything back. Ottawa is known to not return anything unless it is some important official document. Not sure about your visa office. But I wouldn't count on it.

I don't think the invitation needs to be translated.

Since you have been married for over 15 years, you will not need to show much proofs. 20 good photos should be enough

Thanks,

My wife didnt want to submit any good photos for that same reason. I figure 20 photos is fine spread out over the 15 years of our marriage. Photocopies are a great idea.

Thank You

Hey!

I was very surprised when my Visa Office in Warsaw returned me all our photographs. Didn't see that coming! :) I think, it's very thoughtfull.
Photocopies are really a great option! We submitted around 60 pics total which I think is more than enough. I actually don't get the point of sending 200-600 pics like some people do. I think it will only irritate the Officer who has to dig his way out if that pile! lol

Good luck! ;)

Hello everyone,
My husband submitted our package on tuesday and they received it yesterday.
I was reading your post and in our evidence we included our wedding pictures, outings with our families and friends, phone records, gifts, facebook inbox, emails and a lot more stuff.
My question is, we placed all our evidence on a word document in our computer and printed everything out, specifying everything, including people who are in the pictures,
Is that ok though?

Best regards.

I guess so. I pasted our FB, Skype PrintScreens into Paint and printed them out as JPEG. Our Skype Call records were on a Word document. As for the pics - I printed them and glued to a blank paper and wrote captions under each pic. I think you are all set! :)
