Photo Requirements link?

Does anyone have a link to photo requirements for family class immigration (US outland)? All I can find is the Appendix B Photo Specifications. In my IMM3910 directions it states: Supply 4 recent photos for each member of your family and yourself. Follow the instructions in your guide (see PHOTOS in section on completing the Application for Perm. Residence in Canada.) and in Appendix B: Photo Specifications.

However ALL I can find is appendix B....I can't find anything about photos anywhere else in any guide. Help? I want to get the photos correct and have an appointment later today with a photographer to get these done. Is there more I am supposed to know or is Appendix B what I need?

appendix b is all your need. it's so the photographer knows the size specifications required by CIC. the photos should look like the kind of photo you would get for a passport or driver's license - hence the little description and example on appendix b. you need 4 copies of each photo. that's all there is to it. if your photographer does passport photos, he should know what it means when you say you need permanent resident photos done. we had ours done at costco for $40.

Just take a print out of Appendix B with you to the photographer. That is all you need.

Not sure if you're in Canada or not, but if you are go to London Drugs. They have the Immigration specs already loaded into their software to properly format the photos, and you get all 4 pics for about $13, and its ready in less than 5 minutes.

As i am writing this i am on hold with CIC call center.
For our outland specifications (s.america) it doesn't say that we need a date on the back of the photos.

It says:
Follow the instructionsin your guide (see Photos in section on completing the Application for Permanent Residence in Canada) and in Appendix B:photo Specifications.

This doesn't make any sense actually, as it says 'permanent residence in canada' which actually has another help section and lists photo requirements that need a date on the back.
However, the Appendix B of the regional specific guide mentions nothing about photos on the back.

Anyone else run into this problem?
Thanks

Thanks everyone! I don't see anything about needing a date on the back on my appendix B, but as I said, theres nothing at all in my GUIDE about photos...it is confusing. I'm just taking the Appendix Photo Spec sheet with me and hoping that will be enough. i'm in the US and no one where I am does them specifically...so Im stuck going to a photographer for $50 to have them done via the sheet instructions. Was hoping Walgreens could do it but nope :(

The call centre says that this is a known issue.. Some of the guides are not uniform in their requirements. *No sh_t!!

The lady said at the least to write the name of the person on the back of each photo.
She promised that your app won't be returned if there is not stamp at this point.

Hmmm should i believe her?

hmm I just got back from having pics taken to see this info now. I called my photographer and he said that there is no way for them to put a stamp on the back in the printing process... so hopefully they accept it without a stamped date? thats the first I've seen the link to that PR card photo info. so is the consensus that people have all gotten dates on the back or have people not and still not had a problem? The guy I used made it seem like it wasn't really possible to do it, and hes a professional photographer with a pretty complex studio and set up. I wonder if the dated receipt for the photos would work? Not sure what to do at this point.

I just sent my spouse to battle across town in SaoPaulo to get the stamp put on - so thats what we decided :) I don't want any doubts.
Seems like people get approved around here, despite CIC not because of their help!

Apparently our pictures as well wouldn't take a date without smudging. So we will just write the applicants name on the back and address in a cover letter.

I saw some people order GCMS notes and the VO mentions biodata missing from back of photos, however their country-specific instructions did not indicate anywhere that you had to put the date/DOB on the back. I hope it's not too big a deal, because I didn't put the date or DOB on the back, because Guide 3900 and my country-specific instructions did not say so.
