Hey friends!

I know everyone has their own way of doing things. But this worked really well for me and I thought I would share it with the other newbies putting together their immigration pictures together.

Did a lot of research on this forum and discovered that most people are using a Word document to get pictures printed and labelled. However, when I tried doing that I would run into problems where I had to manually resize pictures. And thats when I discovered Adobe Lightroom, it creates a document in Microsoft Office OneNote making it easy to label and print them. Found it super easy and efficient! And the best thing is that you can download it for a free trial for 30 days, guess that should suffice to get all the pictures ready.

All the best to everyone :)

Adobe Lightroom does make easy work of the photos.

That is what I used.
My pictures were all titled, dated and captioned - six to a page.
Very easy to use.

Thank you for sharing it. :)

I didn't use any program.
After deciding which pictures I was going to send I clicked 'print' and I chose the option 4 per page(I think they are good sized, you can clearly see everything).
After having them printed I wrote the occasion, names and dates right on the lower part of each photo.

Maybe one day CIC will demand a specific format, or... no paper, only electronic submissions, until then, it's good that we all get a choice. :)

Many people just include standard photographs with the information written on the back of each picture.

If the images are important, make sure you have the originals - sometimes items do not get returned.

we used the old fashioned actual photo prints with details written on the back. We didn't even think of trying any other way! Despite me including other pictures for the evidence (such as screen caps of emails) within my Open Office documents.
Thats another good suggstion of a program to use if you don't have MS WORD.

We are with ya, I have worked in the computer industry for a number of years and as such I have a pretty long contact list of very experience people in various areas of the industry. In talking to a particular guy I work with and explaining how I was going to use my pics in MS Word and type to the page etc..etc.. he laughed and said he would not trust that format if he was working as VO given his knowledge.

A couple of days later he emailed me some pics that we had sent him of a previous trip and I was there with Angelina Jolie and my wife of course was in pics with Brad Pitt hahaha... it was amazing how real they looked but as stated this guy has a vast amount of experience. At that point I decide just to send in original prints just one less thing to worry about in my mind. I do realize that not everybody has the skill to do what he did. But hey if people are going to worry about chat logs being forged/edited etc.. they have just as much reason to worry about pics that are not originals... IMHO

As with everything else YMMV and everyone has to do what they feel comfy with...
