Thanks @penacare
Really appreciate the detailed reply.

How did you make the payment? I havent done a paper application before, so I am still trying to figure out how to do that?
Also I recently check the cic website and they have an additonal line in the change/extension of pgwp section as:

You must apply on paper if you’re extending or changing the conditions on your PGWP. You can only extend your PGWP if your passport expired earlier than your PGWP validity should have been.

**This would be indicated in a remark on your initial PGWP.**

I remember when I had gone for flag poling to get my work permit, this line wasnt added by then which is Feb 12th of this year.
So I didnt request the officer to add a remark.

Would that be a problem? Did your remark section in the work permit document have anything like "issued till passport expiry mentioned"?

Hi All,

While filling out the imm5710e for PGWP extension, the section which asks for

Question 3) I am applying for one or more of the following:

*Apply for a work permit with the same employer
*Apply for a work permit for the first time or with a new employer
*Restore my status as a worker
*Get a new temporary resident permit

I am confused between (*Apply for a work permit with the same employer and *Apply for a work permit for the first time or with a new employer)
I want to have an open work permit and not employer-specific work permit, my objective is just to extend the PGWP.

DETAILS OF INTENDED WORK IN CANADA

1 a) What type of work permit are you applying for?
Should it be:
Open work permit
or
Post Graduate Work Permit
????

I am confused because of the fact that its no longer a new work permit, but an extension request.

Hey, I did the payment online, they will send you a receipt that you will need to print and add to your paper application.
The PGWP extension must be done on paper only. I heard of cases where the PGWP extension was denied just because they applied online. Indeed, my first PGWP had in the remarks that I could extend my permit pending my passport renewal. I do not know if it will be a problem or not, you should ask a specialist.

I have received approval for my paper-based PGWP extension. Called the agent a few weeks ago they said paper-based applications are not processed due to COVID, obviously, that's not 100% true. Although IRCC website claims the processing time is 174 days, you can actually expect faster processing. Here's the timeline:
Mail documents: July 15th, 2020
Documents delivered: July 22nd, 2020
Link Application to the ICC online portal: September 30th, 2020.
Biometrics: done it previously
Permit Approval: October 22, 2020

Hi Everyone,
I applied for PGWP extension documents delivered Oct 6th, 2020. But my PGWP expires on Nov 21st 2020. If I don't get acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) by then, what can I do? Can I still continue working after Nov 21st?

Any feedback is appreciated.
Thank You.

You may still work under implied status while waiting for your extension, says on IRCC website. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/visitors/implied-status-extending-stay.html
Try to connect your application online, if successful you would have the application number to prove your submission. Meanwhile, keep your application fee receipt, courier receipt as an alternate method of proving your submission (so you are under implied status). Hope it helps.

Hello,
Can you please provide information about the whole procedure?
i have some doubts
1) where should i need to send application? there are two adresses 202 and 555.
2) What should i need to write in current status Student or Worker?
3) If i talk about explanation letter.
Which date should i need to be mentioned for my Work permit expected to be.
(i got 18 months permit rather than 36)
4) Can i later change my mailing address? because i am planing to move.

It will be helpful,if you can provide me information regarding this matter.

Thanks in advance
