They are going to be eligible for OHIP when they become permanent residents
So you’ll need insurance till then
They can get ohip if they qualify to become pr’s before they actually become pr’s. A lot of people on this forum have applied based on the letter from IRCC stating they meet all the requirements and the application is is process.

Hello again forum members I’m sure everyone is very excited for the interest to sponsor form opening up tomorrow.

1) I’ve looked at the requirements to fill out the form and it seems that it will require either proof of status document such as PR OR a passport. Just double triple checking will I be fine if I upload JUST my pr card copy and not both passport and pr?

2)I’m pasting this directly from immigration Canada website instructions to fill out the form:

-the number of people in your immediate family (you, your spouse or partner and dependent children):
I live alone so this would be 1 correct?

or shall I include my mom and dad (who I want to sponsor) and say 3?

-the total number of people you want to sponsor, including their dependants (spouse or partner, and children):

2 (mom and dad)

it’s a bit confusing because it’s asking separately and not asking for total family size which would be 3.

Not sure if this actually applies for PGP but spouses only qualify for OHIP once they have approval in principle (AIP). You may be able to apply for OHIP 1 month earlier but not sure if this applies to PGP. There is no implied status like there is for spousal sponsorship. Your parents either have to return home or try to extend their stay in Canada if they want to try and remain in Canada until they receive PR. You must maintain their supervisa insurance.

1/ You just need to submit ONE of the required documents
2/ In your case, number of YOUR family: 1; Number of people you want to sponsor: 2 (mother and father). Total peple to determine income: 3

Hello, Which Income (which line of NOA?) we need to consider to show proof of income.
Can we add income of parents from their country as well?

Line 150 from your tax return. No, you certainly cannot add income belonging to your parents from their country. Only your income and your spouse's income can be included provided this income was declared in your Canadian tax return.

or my spouse need to apply for 4+2 with me as a cosigner and I need to apply for 4+2 with my income?

Thanks Scylla

Can I apply for my parents and my brother also apply for our parents in separate application to have more chance?

Yes, you can both submit an expression of interest as long as you each meet the income requirements.

what if a person meets income requirements for 2018,2019, but won't for 2020, in this case, seems that he can still submit form this week ? until being found out next year after filing tax for 2020? is this quota wasted?

There's nothing stopping them from submitting a form. Yes, this quota will be wasted if they are selected.

i will be very surprised that if IRCC doesn't know this loophole of wasted quota?
Sure, they know about it. It's happened in previous years. It doesn't look like they've really done anything different to prevent the same thing from happening again this year.

Hi Friends,
I'm an Independent contractor and have a registered company in which I'm the only employee. I worked in IT and my agency pay to my Company (Incorporated) directly instead of me.The personal income(150 in T4) I took from my company is less and not meeting MNI.

Can I show both Personal and Business income together to meet the MNI criteria? That means line 150 from T4 + line 300 from T2?
Thanks in advance.
