Personal History (employment) & Out of Status

I am out of status, married, and applying for Family Class Sponsorship.
one of the question in the application is personal history (work).
As I am out of status should I be declaring that I have worked? am currently working? and should I be unemployed at the time of submission?

I known friends that have taken both paths/answers, one was accepted saying they did not work (though they did). The other saying they did work, is now waiting for CICs review of their application.

I'm thinking honesty is always the answer CIC is looking for. I also would like to keep working though it may be wrong.

You have a very difficult decision to make.

Honesty is the only way to go, IMHO, but since you have worked illegally in Canada, you'll be opening a Pandora's Box. No idea what CIC would do, but I suspect that it could impact your PR application.

However...I keep going back to CIC's IP8 document that states that a person deemed to have a `lack of Status' is still eligible to apply. Those include persons that have overstayed their visitor visa, and/or studied or worked without authorization. Does that really mean that they'd forgive you? I honestly have no idea.

Good luck!

I just had my PR application approved and received COPR.

I am also out of status and in my application I put that I was "self employed'. I applied outland and never got questioned about it once.

it is totally up to you .
i was out of status for a bit so I explained my situation on the separate sheet of paper (my visa issue etc)

but I recommend to stop working illegally after you send your application.
if you get caught, you might be deported.
- one of my friend got caught drunken drive ( he was very close to get his PR) and he got deported.
and I heard/ read news illegal worker get deported.

so be careful..
