Thanks Lazybone, I preferably going to go with the 2nd option "Do Flag pole and leave after starting the PR Card process and come back with the PRTD"

At the same time am just wondering if could leave now and come back using my New Single Entry PR Visa from my home country just like all other new
immigrants as long my new PR Visa and Medical are valid (both are Valid until March 29th 2017). My understanding is that I will be just following IRCC
requirement of leaving the country and re entering to become PR. And I don't need to worry about either PR Card or PRTD.

yes ....possible as i mentioned in my post..in item 1

best wishes brother!!!!

the COPR and the VISA issued on your passport will have an expiry date...thats the "real" date by which you gotta land buddy :)

I've heard about that but I've also heard about the meds thing. Would the expiry date on the CoPR/visa have anything to do with the date on which the meds expire?

Interesting! Yes, I should be getting it on Monday or Tuesday, but I was just wondering because one of my friends gets married on Jan 21st and my meds expire on Jan 8, so I wanted to see if maybe I'd have a chance to be at the wedding before having to land. Probably not, but we'll see. Thanks again, lazybone!

PP arrived Ottawa this morning! Hoping to land on black friday ;D

I have the CoPR now!!!!!!!!!!! Praise God!!!

For some reason, the expiration date is not until October of next year. I'm planning to land in January anyway!

I'm so happy! ;D :D :P

Going out to the Peace Bridge for some flagpoling to get my Canadian Permanent Residence!
:D If you folks have any advice please let me know.

I'm taking my proof of funds and COPR +Passport.

cheers!

Here is a quick summary of my trip to the Border with the USA at Niagara Falls.

I drove down from Toronto on a busy 2.5 hour drive from the Downtown Core.
I arrived in Niagara, and ate at the Fallsview Casino - a $25 buffet that is $21 if you've got a Player's Card (you can get thi if you take the $20 tour bus from Safeway tours to come to Niagara Falls)

USA:
I went to the border, drove across to the USA. It took them all of 5 minutes to give me the document refusing entry. The Guards were Amazing.
They smiled, and even told me my Jeep had a little oil flap loose under the chassis.

Canada:
I drive back to Canada, and the officer at the Entry Gates asks my American friend and I a couple of simple questions, then gives me a yellow slip, asking me to go over to the waiting area. We waited, and after a while she came and asked why I hadnt submitted the slip to the counter.

Within 5 minutes of all this, and a couple of questions later I was confirmed as a Permanent Resident. I'll be honest, this was smooth and a lot of fun. All parties involved were jovial, helpful and welcomed me back.

Moving Forward:
I've made Canada my home for my 9th year now, and this is one of the many reasons why.
cheers to all
