Obviously your wife is not in Canada right? You have to email Them and request for a change of visa office. My situation is kinda the same.. I sent my PP here in Canada and my son sent his in the Philippines the Canadian Embassy in the Phils sent me an email about his PP.

If you are from visa exempt country than you have to send copies, if you are not from fisa exempt than send the passports unless you have any other instructions in the PPR

Landed at Coutts last night :D. Everything went smooth.

Thanks everyone, your help is really appreciated. :)

Hi Buddy,

Can you please tell me the complete procedure you did in Coutts. Border crossing etc. What are the documents you need? I am planning to go there this Saturday.

Thanks

Once we receive our passports, how long do we have till we can land? Also I am a student in the US, so I will have to return quickly, is there a minimum time I have to remain in Canada?

Can anyone please tell me what documents I should have when I land? My COPR doesn't really mention any specific documents I need to have on me other than the COPR and Passport with my visa. I am currently on implied status. Do I need proof of my implied status? Do I need hard copies of all the documents I applied with such as my police clearance certificate, transcripts, employment history letter etc?

I would just keep the following documents just in case:

Passport with visa
CoPR
proof of funds ( statement or bank letter)
work permit / BOWP even if its expired
anything to show you in implied status ( not sure which document for this )

also I would call cic and double check with them, we have come so far at this stage and no need to rush things. Please make sure you have all your documents handy to avoid any rejection

best of luck

(1) I drove to the US booth and handed my family's PPs and CoPRs and told them I just wanted to flag pole to become Canadian PR. They kept my PPs and asked me to enter their office (Some others have reported that just parked their cars on the Canadian side and walked to the US booth/office, but it was cold and I did not want my kids to get sick).

(2) Then, they gave us the 'refuse entry' white paper (+PPs+CoPR) and a police officer escorted us to 'make sure' we take the U-turn to get back to Canada.

(3) Once in the Canadian booths we handed them all docs and they gave us a yellow paper and asked us to go inside their office.

(4) Once inside we went to the immigration section and a lady took all docs and asked us to sit down. A few minutes later, she called us and asked us two questions (4.1) Do you have any crime records? (4.2) Do you have any other dependents besides the one indicated in the CoPR? Then she asked us to sit down again.

(5) A few minutes later we where called, asked to sign the papers and became PR! Then she explain our rights, need of new SIN, health care card, etc.

Best of luck to you.

I am CEC, so I just needed Passports, CoPRs and previous work permits. That is all.
For FSW, proof of funds may be needed as well.

Good luck on your landings everyone.
