What is average time frame of getting the passport back?

I remember I gave my medical exam on Aug 31,2018. Will the COPR which they send me valid till Aug 31,2019 only?

That means I have to complete my landing procedure before that date [31aug2019].. Is there any way I can get an extension of that date? Like until end of October or so?

No when you get COPR they will send a letter along with it and it will clearly state that the date can't be extended.

Hi,

Anyone has good news. Really want to get my passport back by next Tuesday. It seems you can walkin at Ottawa office for landing without appointment. (2nd, 4th Tuesday of each month)

Was it an explicit email request or did it come as an account update email and found as an attachment in your account after you login?

All people I know have got an email. Status didn't change for me either.

Also, just curious, any reason why they do it in multiple ways? Does either of this approach signify anything (of course apart from the request for passports itself ) ?
