No you just mention at US side that you want to do flag pole and land as PR on Canada they will just refuse you entry and then you can come back to Canada side. Refusal will not count towards ur future visa requirements for US..

I have some funds in my back home! My family got the bank statements and sent the scan of them to me when I was applying for PR. Do I need the original docs for landing or the scan is enough? Should I ask my family to post the docs to me in Canada?

Get the latest bank statements (scan copy should suffice) and your current job pay stubs (just in case). It all depends on the officer, some officer ask the PoF and some don't. The latest bank statements might not be in detail, just a cover letter of all your accounts and the fund you have should suffice.

You can either call CIC and make an appointment to Land in the closest CIC office or you can cross the border in Niagara falls. I am also from Toronto, I will cross the border.

That should be fine as long as you are back within the validity of your copr. You need to carry all the documents you submitted at the time of application including medical letter should be valid on the day of landing. Medicals are valid for 1 year.
