You cannot call CIC from outside Canada. Instead if you know someone inside Canada give them authority to ask for GCMS notes on your behalf. You will get details of your application status and also it will trigger CIC to open your file. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

Usually it comes a few hours after they close your file in MyCIC. Mine came a day later. It takes them atleast 10 working days to approve. In my case it took 3 weeks.

Right, it happens in some cases. It gets closed later on. Tracker takes 3-5 days to get activated usually.

Not that I have heard of or read anywhere, unless they find some mis-leading or false information in your application.

Friends, Finally application approved and closed in MyCIC. Waiting for return-tracker to be activated.

Hello Friends, I wanted to check the number of days CIC takes to close file after receiving the Passports. They have received our passports on Feb3rd and still nothing updated. I have seen almost everyone had their files closed within 12 straight days but in our case its already 12 working days...

Did you receive any ghost email prior to MyCiC update?

In most cases its got to be valid for 6 months but i have seen a few requiring 12 months too. I guess it depends on your country of origin/nationality.

Based on current average of inland applicants, it takes about 10-12 days for them to close your file after your passport is received and about 3-5 days to send back your passport. Add another 3 days for passport to be received so that's about 3 weeks for the passports to be stamped and returned...

Hello Everyone, One of my friend from Egypt is stuck in similar dilemma. Has the strategy to apply without PCC and submit later through CSE worked for anyone yet?

The email is from CIC and it has your UCI and EE application number. I am in a similar state, my passport has been received in Ottawa on Feb 3rd and MyCiC still shows in progress. The officer will update and close the file online once passports are stamped and file is close din their system.

whats the status in you MyCIC account?

That should be fine as long as you are back within the validity of your copr. You need to carry all the documents you submitted at the time of application including medical letter should be valid on the day of landing. Medicals are valid for 1 year.
