I only received email of SA approval email. I haven't received any other information. ECAS just states application received and no other details so don't know those details.

Sometimes they don't update the status online. Mine was the same case. I received the passport after 20 working days. This was last year though.

I didn't notarized mine but I got stamp on back of photograph from the photographer.

I would take the CoPR when received and do the landing next day to avoid any hassles. There is no point of paying fees to extend the visitor visa since they have already mailed CoPR to you.

One of my friend brought his wife on visitor visa before sponsoring her. I think you can do that as well.

You need a letter/confirmation from CIC stating that you can submit your passport Ottawa and others in India. You need to attach that letter when you submit the passports in respective country.

Do you have entry/exit stamps on passport to prove this? I resided in UK for more than 6 months and got police clearance letter but they also didn't mention the duration in the letter. I showed the entry/exit stamping in passport and they didn't raise questions on it.

I have read many times on the forum that they have received the call. They call to random applicants to verify the information. This means that your application is in progress. They will look at the responses provided by you and your employer and take decision. I hope everything works out...

I think it is better to get clarification on this. You cannot send your passport out in courier outside of the country you are residing. In your case, your wife's passport should go to NY and yours to New Delhi.
