Not until CanadaPost is willing to work on weekends.sparth1989 said:Guys is there any possibility to receive PPR on weekends?
I would not send the passport since it is expiring within 6 months. It is a mandatory condition for CoPR to be issued. I would rather send them an email first to make sure though. In the meanwhile check how much time will it take to renew the passport from your home country? If I remember they have mentioned in the mail somewhere that you can contact them in case of any questions or if you are not able to send them the passport within 30 days.eddie_in_NL said:hi
posting here to start following this thread, got PPR today and will be sending passports to Ottawa soon.
One question I have: my wife's passport is expiring in 5 months 25 days, and they do ask at least 6 months validity. Does anyone has any similar experience ?
I'm thinking about sending it anyway and explain in a letter that I'm aware of that but since we will be able to complete the landing procedure before the passport expires, that they issue the visa with expiry date identical to the passport. Any thoughts on that ?
Thanks
It is a bit of a hassle since there is no Brazilian consulate in Calgary, the closest one is in Vancouver. They come here once or twice a year and this is the best way of renewing passports for Brazilians in Calgary, but unfortunately they're not coming anytime soon. We would need to travel there and then wait 10 working days + mailing time. Or we can do by mail, would take 15 working days + mailing time, which theoretically would be done within the 30 days but with a risk of delay, since I've heard complaints of them returning applications claiming something is missing.JK_CAD said:I would not send the passport since it is expiring within 6 months. I think you should do as you plan. I remember a case here when a person was asked to confirm that they will land in less than couple months because his wife's passport was expiring. He wrote a letter and the visa was issued. Write a letter with explanation. Hope it works, good luck!eddie_in_NL said:hi
