Still waiting for my Spouse's passport which was delivered to Ottawa on August 10, 2016

They (CIC) are confused my wife is in India or Canada. Not sure how do I re-confirm that she is in Canada already even after I sent a CSE of her arrival in July 2016 with the Open Work Permit.

You should write the other tracking number before sending, it was on the empty envelope you sent. Now you have no chance to track your envelope back, sorry bud.

Passport delivered to CPC Ottawa today Aug 25th, how long it will take to receive it back? 2 weeks?

In my case, it's took around 3 business days for RICC to approve and close your case, after that it would take around 2 business days for your returning mail tracking to be activated, which normally happens after 5pm ET because Canada Post will only scan mails collected in a batch after they returned to the facility centre by the end of the day.

But as Canada Post's Union filed strike with 72 hours notice yesterday, yours and all others returning mail from CPP - Ottawa will get delayed if they decide to go to strike, it will start next Monday the 29th, hence all government offices are contracted solely with Canada post for outgoing mails.

I'm praying for everyone the strike will not happen but plz consider the worst, last time their strike lasted 3 weeks if I'm not wrong

When was your application approved and closed?

I don't have that info coz Is at my lawyer account.
I think you should be fine, we have similar dates(one week difference) so check Monday for your tracking envelope to be activate. Hopefully Canada post strike doesn't affect. Check the news about that.

my lawyer told me it will help once you land.is it true? Or will it be approved and closed first and then the return tracker be updated?
and when should i expect an update?

Within 2-3 weeks. So, you will get it by mid September hopefully.

the file gets updated in mycic right after copr is printed and before the passport is mailed back
