Just checked my COPR, and I take it back: it seems like you have to land before your medical expires. Medical results are valid for 12 months.

I am in India, do I still need to send the passport to Ottawa? I sent them several emails to provide instructions to be able to send it to the processing center in India but didn't get any response. They have precisely mentioned in the 1st email that -
If you do not have a mailing address in Canada or the U.S.A, or if you are unable to submit the required documentation for you or your accompanying family members to the addresses below, please send an email to us at CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca so that we can send you instructions for submitting your documents to a visa office which is the most convenient for you. Please note that our office will not return passports to an address outside North America.

Your sig says that your application is closed on 25th, so you should see your return tracker activated by today.

No, just passport + 2 photos per applicant. Work permit may be checked at the border during landing.
If you are from France though, you don't need to submit your passport, just a photocopy of pages with markings: "If you are holder of passport(s) from countries whose citizens need an eTA to travel to Canada, you will need to submit one photocopy of the photo page and any pages containing amendments of the passport for you and for each accompanying family member. Please do not send your original passport(s). Your passport(s) should be valid for at least 6 months." (that's what it says in the PPR email)

My tracker was activated after 5pm two business days later once case was approved and closed, so I'll say probably tomorrow evening for yours, on one term Canada Post keeps working as usual, no strike what so ever
