Passport Questions

Plan on applying for my passport. I am Canadian (should be at least), waiting on my Proof of Citizenship Certification.

I saw this thread: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/canada-passport-application-question.398292/ from 2 years ago, where one person said:

"It is quite simple:

- Driver License/Id/ or Health Card
- Citizenship Certificate
- Photos
- Application (completed)
- $

That is all you need. Anything else, it is not necessary. "
What about the references and guarantor mentioned here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/travel-documents-references-guarantors.html

Are they a necessary part of the application?

Also what about "any valid Canadian travel document issued in your name" - I don't have any Canadian travel documents, never visited or lived there, this will be my first passport.

Just want to clear some things up before applying, thanks!

"(completed)" is the key word here...

Yes, the guarantor and the references are an absolute necessity, unless of course you provide the PPTC 132 document if you have no guarantor.

Forget the canadian travel document part. Most 1st passport applicants don't have one and obviously won't need to provide it ;)

That solves it, thanks!
