Hi all, I completed and posted my passport application, about a month ago, i posted the application registered post at gatinau (QC)excuse the spelling, however the item was delivered to somewhere in Ottawa, is this right ?
getting a little nervous as you know we have to submit our citizenship certificate as well, and I don’t want to lose it.

Gatineau office is their head office for all postal and the applications submitted thru Service Canada and from their the applications will be routed to different Passport Canada offices depending on the resources available at Passport office.

So some applications are re-routed to Calgary, Ottawa, Winnipeg, etc.

So it’s not been delivered to the wrong place ?

No its not delivered to wrong place but rather to delivered to the Passport Canada office who can actually work on your file.

Hi everyone,
I applied for passport on 9th May by mail to Gatineau after citizenship ceremony done on Apr 12. I just saw that payment for the same has been debited on 24-06-2022. Do they contact only guarantor or both references also? what happens if one of the referees is not available? how long is the process taking these days?

Sent my application from the UK on April 19th......confirmed yesterday that my application was sent to Canada only last Friday! So hopefully I'll see some movement, they also confirmed mine would not take longer than 2 weeks to sort out.

But yes like yourself, having to submit my Citizenship cert always sits uneasy due to it could go missing at anytime but here's keeping fingers crossed.

The simpler answer is that Gatineau and Ottawa are adjacent to one another.

My tracker showed the Ottawa delivery but my passport was issued in BC (I’m in Ontario).

Sorry to ask the bleeding obvious question based on your reply but if you're applying from within Canada....you have access to a tracker to see where it's reached? I've been given a reference number by London (UK) High Commission but obviously can't do much with it right now...

I was referring to the Canada Post tracker since the OP was about mail-in applications.

Just to update everyone, after applying in Sept 2019, then having to leave the country due to family and personal matters, finally after 2 years and 8/9 months after a knock on the door....I signed for a special delivery in the UK and low and behold 2 passports confirming that I'm Canadian.....ok well th Citizenship cert did that however it's finally over....he says.....thanks to everyone for helping and supporting and I'll continue to support where I can, especially with people applying from overseas and hopefully I can help answer questions and provide useful answers!

Just an update. I just received my passport on the 25th of July, with the citizenship certificate but my wife`s passport and citizenship certificate havent yet arrived, even though the application was together. Does this usually happen? What should I do?
