No I stupidly ordered gcms so it stopped the file from moving for 7 days. I compared mine to others and it looks like I have to wait till the first week of November.
What about you any news, no prearrival yet???
I ordered our CAPS notes too and realize now that it holds up the process. Will never do that again!

What’s your timeline ?
Date application received at the Mississauga office: May 1, 2018
Sponsorship Approval email and medical request: July 19, 2018
Medical passed: July 24, 2018
File transferred to Paris visa office email: July 24, 2018

I have spoken to an officer on 2 separate occasions and they say the normal thing, that the application is coming along normally and they saw that I requested the ECAS notes. The second agent that I spoke to explained to me that when I request these notes, it holds up the application process. In the ECAS notes it is noted that I had called and spoke to an agent to ask for general information and that the ECAS notes were requested and emailed to me.

All seems to be processing normally in the notes, but it is clear that they have not started the back ground check, which is the criminal and security check, although we submitted the criminal report already along with the Schedule A. The Sponsorship approval passed and my husbands medical passed.

I am praying that we have a change to "Decision Made" by January, 2019. The agent that I spoke to over the phone the second time said that the goal is to have applications, that do not have an issue, processed in 12 months, which is also noted on the Canadian Immigration web site. I am the Sponsor and my husband is the Principal Applicant. :) The start date for the processing period is from the date that they receive the file, which for me is May 1, 2018 so hopefully, Inshallah, we will have completed all and my husband will be here by May 1, 2019.

In sha allah all will be good i am 5th march applicant and my file transfer to Paris 1st june still waiting no bg chek start . And where u call in canada o in paris embassy

This is the number that I called to speak to an immigration clerk/officer. The office for this number is in Canada. I think it is here in Ottawa because the person that I spoke to was French. They probably have many call center's for the different area's of applications to come to Canada.

Telephone: 1-888-242-2100 (in Canada only)

The officer gives "very" generic information, they give NO information about the status of the application, but she did explain that the information in the GCKey and ECAS are the best way to keep track of current steps. She did explain to me that there are "numerous" people that are looking at and processing our files, at any given time. She explained to me that there are many different departments that process different things and that our files do not stay with one person the entire time and for this reason, applications take time to process. If there are not any "red" flags on an application, it will go smoothly, but if there are things missing, questions about the authenticity of the marriage, it will hold up the application.

The immigration officer/clerk said to not start worrying about anything until 1 year has gone by. Once the full year has gone by and we have not received "decision made" in ECAS or the GCKey, then start to question and worry, call the number below and then contact your local MP for help too. Until we have passed the one year..... it's a waiting game.

Much love and prayers to you and your spouse. We are all in the same boat. Waiting, waiting, waiting.... ;););):rolleyes::rolleyes:

Please keep me posted on your status!!! It will keep me positive.

I think me u and nyc same dates diffrence between time just a week
My file and NYC were on the same point but I did order the gcms so it halted the file for a week or so. I did compare mine to someone from quebec who did order the gcms after prearrival and I think I'll be done by the first week of November Inchallah.

Hi I have a question after send file to visa office if they need some documents are they update on ECAS about them?
