As it turns out the agent did not even fill up his name as the representative.
Did your parents even review their application? Seems like they didn’t even know what was submitted So parents need to move on and apologize. They cannot blame the agent. If IRCC had figured out they used a representative and it wasn’t disclosed, they would be in bigger trouble for lying about that. They had to sign a form to appoint a representative.

No, they could not it seems. My parents have very limited knowledge of technology or the internet. They require help in doing even basic tasks like sending a screenshot, printing or scanning a file. These are the main reasons why I could never help from the abroad and they had to seek help from others locally. Also, they have gotten really old and seeming to forget things. Right now whatever information they are giving me is through a neighbour who can log in for them but he does not have much knowledge about visa application form either.

My parents went to meet this agent today and he told them that he disclosed in the form that he represented them so it is not an issue. Apparently, the neighbour got confused. Also, the agent asked my parents to write an explanation letter and provided some guidance which seems to be very similar to what has been suggested in this forum. I know most of you here suggested to fire the agent but there are no better alternative than him in that town. The other alternative had been that neighbour who is kindly trying to help but clueless in this matter. In fact, it was his suggestion in the first place to mention how the agent made the error but after reading replies from everybody here and also a consultant, came to realize that my parents should fully take the blame and responsibility in the explanation letter. Sure, the agent has made a mistake but time is running out and right now he can help my parents first hand in uploading their words to the migration officer.

That is all they can do. You could have done if for them on your computer and have had them appoint you as their representative. You could have applied for them on their behalf as anyone can be a representative. Done all the work. Most people apply for their parents. Anyways, that is behind them.

What is the date on the letter? Hopefully it is submitted to the correct person in the letter on time.

Hey Naturgrl
Do any assistance require a representative or only if the application was done entirely on their behalf?. In my situariin witb my mother who got her visa approved and my brother now is that I gave them access to technology like my PC remotetly and to templates of LOEs that I used in my PR application so while it was submitted from my PC they were involced in every step of the applicarion and no plans to represent them myself in cases of any questions
