I have just received email for acknowledgement of selection.

But I have a quick query.

I was not working from last 2-3 years was studying before. Would it be possible me and my sister both can fill it. I meant can she also added as a sponsor in my file. Note that I am working now.
Me and my sister both married. She individually can meet the requirement for 3-years income.

Thank you,

^^ Since you are married, you can ask your wife to co-sign the sponsorship.

No - you can't co-sponsor with a sibling. Only a spouse can be a co-sponsor.

Question:
A family size unit is need to calculate for the income. If i am the one who got selected for sponsor parent, my sole income should meet the income requirements or my spouse can be co-singer and our both income will calculate as family size?

family size of 4 include parents.

Please advise

Your income and your spouse's income can be combined.

Your family size is 4 and that includes the parent to be sponsored. To calculate for the income, combine yours and your wife's income and make her your co-signor.

why did you even enter the lottery draw if you didn't have income. you just took a spot from someone who met requirements to sponsor their parents. Siblings cannot co-sponsor. You do not meet requirements to sponsor unless your spouse have enough income to meet LICO. This is a very sensitive issue

CIC did not take into account that many of the people who simply put an "expression of interest" might not actually qualify to apply in the first place.

Yes, we're all aware that cic went bonkers. But we all need to do our own due diligence. We want to apply for our parents and have things processed promptly. applications won't be processed if you don't have all the requirements even if you're selected and it was released by cic in January 2017. We all have to go through the requirement before expressing interest.

I am wondering whether there will be any supplementary draws to account for those who are not eligible to apply?

Perhaps in future CIC should have candidates fill in the ENTIRE APPLICATION online as part of the expression of interest. Or some screening tool like how they do it for the Express Entry. And then have those invited to submit evidence to support what they had declared. It makes people have to go through the process a bit more before they submit an expression of interest. Otherwise it is even easier than buying Lotto Max.

I have all the forms to apply filled in and ready to send to them. I meet all requirements and also will meet requirements for 2016 Tax Year.

The whole talk about equality in resources and what not is rubbish. Those who can sponsor their parents have the financial resources to send in applications on a first come first served system. Those who do not meet the financial requirements are probably those who do not have the resources to succeed in the previous system anyway.

agreed 100% with you

the irony is i know few people who landed less than a year two even applied. When asked you are not eligible they said CIC website doesnt say anything in detail now....this is not good

i bet out of 10,000 there are so many applicants who wont even be able to send documents because of their stupidity

Length of time as PR is not part of the qualification for PGP. A PR who landed in Dec 2016 can qualify the following January for 2017 PGP so long as he/she meets 2013, 2014, and 2015 income requirement. Remember there are a few PRs that has worked in Canada for a number of years as temporary worker prior to becoming PR. Their Canadian income prior to landing as PR can still be used to meet 3 year income requirements.
