Hi pari,
Good to see u back in here with comments, you got passport request long time ago, why they r taking long time to issue visa after requesting pp? Did u request gcms note ? It makes me a little worried that it could take over 3 years after doc request.

I have a question regarding the LICO for parent application.
I exceed the required threshold for year 2013 and 2014 for a family of 4 memebers (myself, wife, our 1 year old child and my mother, who is the applicant). But for year 2012, I do not meet the threshold as I came to Canada only in June and worked for remaining 7 months. However, I meet the threshold for a family of 3 members.

As my child was not born in 2012, can I go ahead and apply when CIC starts to accept parent sponsorship in Jan 2015 ?

YearFamily Size(my family in canada and my mother, who is the applicant)My income meet LICO for a family of size
201233 (not sufficient for family of 4)

Hi Guys,

If someone please answers few questions for Parents Sponsorship IMM 0008 Form:

Qn.1# Application Details > Question 4 > Immigration Office requested for processing this application:
Question is - Should I fill out "India" or I leave it blank in the form.

My Parents are in India. Why I am confuse is because in How to fill Form IMM 0008 says in Question 4 is "If you are applying from within Canada or being sponsored from within Canada, this question does not apply to you. Go to question 5."

Qn.2# Personal Details > Question 11 > Date and Place of your last entry to Canada:
Question is - form does not allow to enter/type. My parents last came to Canada in 2012 from US boarder so Do I need to type by Hand or just Skip it? If I need to mention by hand then my parents came from US to Canada from Niagara border so what should I write in Place in same question?

Qn.3# Personal Details > Question 3 > UCI:
I need to leave it blank - correct? as it is my parents first application.

Qn.4# Contact Information > Question 3,4&5 > Telephone no. and alternate Telephone no. & Email:
Question is - Should I give my(Canada as Sponsor) phone numbers and Email instead of my parents in India? What is the best suitable advice for this?

Qn.5# National Identity Document > Question 1,2,3,4&5:
Question is - My Parents has both PAN Card and ADHAR Card in India so I can give one of them as National Identity Document but it has no Issue Date and Expiry Date - So should I need to leave blank for Issue date and Expiry date or I skip entire question?

Final Question:
As I am leaving some question blank or I need to mention something by hand which I can not enter in the form then in that case - How I can validate form and generate Barcode? IS that mandatory? Can I still Validate again if I make any changes? Also If I need to send form to my Parents in India for sign then Do I need to validate first and then send or I can do it later?

I know I am asking lots of questions but these are the road blockers for me to finish IMM 0008 form. I am really thankful to all of you and have reply form you guys!!!

Select the date of last entry and then type in the point of entry. The form does allow one to type in that field. If it does not allow you, then update your Adobe Reader and try again.

You can leave this blank. However, since you mentioned that your parents came to Canada earlier, it means they already have a UCI number. If you can locate it, it is well and good (should be on the visa printed on the ppt?). But there is no harm in leaving this field blank.

Evaluate your pros and cons. If your parents are tech-savvy, providing their details can help in certain circumstances. Most communications are done via email. You can provide your details too. If you do, ensure that you also fill up the Representative form with your contact details. This way, you would be able to may inquiries about your parent's file in future.

Most people fill their (sponsor's) information in these fields and also fill up the Representative form with their own details.

India does not have a "formal document" called "National Identity Document" As such, you can leave these fields blank. Providing details of Adhar, Election or PAN cards would not do any harm (will further prove identity of the applicant). If some dates are missing, just provide dummy dates and clarify this in your covering letter.

Wherever information is needed, you need to fill it in. The only time you would need handwritten text is on Signatures or names in regional language (this is not necessary). So, enter all information and only then validate. Validating and generating barcode IS MANDATORY. You can scan all filled-up forms and email it to your parents for their signatures (ensure you put sticky notes on each page that needs signatures/dates). On my mom's application, I had a scanned copy of her signature that I used on the forms (saves a lot of back and forth). Just make sure your parents know about all the information on the form and that they agree to it. CIC has a nasty habit of changing the forms. If you do not send in the latest forms, they simpy return the application back. So make sure you fill in the form at the very last possible moment (a week or two early is good enough - but not months in advance).
