Filed my parents immigration application in June 2011. Parents live in India and I live in Canada. Got an acknowledgement in Jan 2012 and that was it. Have no communication after that. When I looked into CIC website, it now takes 41 Months for step 1 processing before the file is transferred to India for Step 2. and Step 2 takes 66 Months in New Delhi. That's close to 9 years in total and increasing every day.
Anyone else in the same boat ?

I am in same ship as you. I even requested GCMS notes this year. I think on website they are showing way more than supposed to . May be next year I am expecting request for additional documents. they are working on the files upto FEB 2011 right now.

Don't place too much reliance on these step 2 wait times. They are based on the historical time to process 80% of the applications. The median, or 50%, will be smaller.

The number of PR visas issued for the parents/grandparents class in 2010 and 2011 was lower than the previous years at 15,000 per year. In 2012 it increased to 22,000 and in 2013 increased to 32,000. I suspect this has skewed the wait times that CIC has on their website.

My mother in law received her passport with visa from the embassy today. We received a letter in early February with sponsorship approval. The file was sent from Missisauga to Ottawa. The listed processing time in Ottawa is 64 months.

It actually took 8 months from sponsorship approval to her having the visa in hand.

Hi,

My brother applied for family PR in 2008 november. Our medical is done once(last year april). Three Days back we got a letter from Canadian Embassy to do DNA.
Please dont judge us. We included one child in our case (sisters child). Please don't judge as our circumstances were like that so that's why we took this step and we are regreting this decison everyday.
They asked us to do DNA or reply within 30 days.

Can any one please advise me what to do...Or same case happend with someone.

I am very much worried :(

Please reply me in my inbox as no one wants to reveal this kind of information.
Thanks,

Thanks Cgill..what did the GCMS notes say, is it the same information that's on website that application was received on so and so date or is it the copy of everything that was sent to CIC. One more question - you said "it almost takes a year from delhi visa office after this" - do you mean that 66 months given on the website is in fact just 1 year...that would be great if that's the case..Thanks again!

Hi all folks
I checked my application status that I saw:
Sponsor person name:........
-Sponsorship application status: Application received: we received ur application on June 15, 2010.
-Permanent Residence application status: Application received: We received application for permanent residence on June 15, 2010.
So it means that the CIC received my application when we have submitted doc request on October 2, 2014. Right?
please correct me if I wrong.
Thank you
