actually you are right, we should have but what happened was isb asked some additional info for my brother in law education, long story short i sent it end of Aug. and now waiting. Last time i order gcms notes it has the due date in medical column Nov. 30/13 i am waiting end of this month, if i dont get anything then i will apply for gcms notes on Nov. 1.

What about you? any progess? your case is very old, it should been over by now.

Guys, What is canadian visa application center in colombo? Why do we need to submit the passport to them instead of canadian high commission in colombo? Two months earlier people submitted their passport directly to the high commission. Now they ask to submit the passport to canadian visa application center? Why is like that....
Please someone explain to me....Thanks in advance....

VAC's are now all over the world.

They will send and receive your passport from the Embassy on your behalf.....
They usually have more hours rather than the CHC. I think it's also due to security measures.......
VAC will charge you for passport-sending services.

Hunny, My sister got Medical done in August.
E-cas status is medical received since September. They asked for status of my sister. I sent documents 02 weeks ago.
In-Process. last line Medical Results received.

Good to see people from ISB. As I mentioned, our medical was done in april and we were asked for the passport with the medical letter. ecas shows medicals have been received but the status is application received. Since then no news...
Applied originally in 2009 and case was sent to ISB in Oct 2012.

I got the request for additional documents in December 2012. Which I send in January 2013. I got a call from CHC , ISB that I didn't send the medical along with the documents. Actually it was CHC, ISB staff who forgot to add the letter for medical tests. What happen after is a long story but medical got delayed 7 month. Now I am waiting for PPR. but I am hopeful that sooner or later everyone of us will re-unite with our family members here in Canada. 2014 quota is 25000 application. And still have 45 business days left of 2013.A lot can happen.

I would suggest sending an inquiry to CHC about your case, also mention medical completion date and ask whether case is near finalization

I filled the forms for GCMS notes. But waiting for my sister to get her new passport with the marital status change.
2 week max. than I will apply for GCMS and will visit my MP too.

Is the the right way to do? or should I apply for GCMS now and keep working on passport side?

hi,yes i hav submiiteed my original academics doc on 4 jan 2013.
thier letter dated 26 nov 2012(we recieved on 14th dec) requesting medicals and other documents. we done medicals on 21st dec and documents was sent on 4 jan.. i am still a student.

hi,,i guess you should wait..this thought also came to mi mind to apply for STUDENT VISA. But all my known ones said me to wait till the final result of our application. As it is very difficult to get PR on student visa.

Hi Sumi,

Where did you got the data that only 10,000 visas are issued and 15,000 are still pending.
Since July 2013, Kenny is no longer the Minister for Immigration. Chris Alexander is new Minister. He served In Kabul and Moscow before coming back to Canada.


He is going to announce 2014 Immigration level program later today.

Seems like a nice guy with good knowledge of South East Asia.
