News Release — Slashing backlogs, reuniting families
“Our Government is keeping our promise to overcome the massive backlogs we inherited and reunite families faster,” said Alexander. “These numbers represent the highest level of parent and grandparent admissions in nearly two decades and are a clear expression of our commitment to family reunification as a key part of our immigration plan.”
Thank you very much for your reply. That's strange - it looks like CPC-M is working on applications in a random way - how come they opened your file that was received by them on August 20 after the applications received by them in October?nsingh said:checked today - ecas status changed to Decision Made
CPC-Ottawa is pretty fast. You can expect the medical request from them any time before this year ends.upatel said:No.
My parents went backhome in june 2013.
They still have a valid visitor visa untill December 2013 but due to some reason they went back to india.
Do you know how long it will take to get medical request through email now?
thx

Did he mention anything about the overseas backlog?
We are working on the extension as well. Here is the link that we are using to gather all the required paperworktoronto30 said:Hi BMM
can you please tell me how/what documnets you provided when you extend your mother's stay? thank you very much for your time.

That would be totally unfair if the CIC decide to proccess the new applications earlier than the ones are in the backlog. But we can never know - I will not be surprised if the newly received applications will be processed and finalized within the year of 2014.YYZguy416 said:Unfortunately, no mention of that. And it will be interesting to see how they will process the 5,000 new applications that they will start receiving in January. I hope they will process them only after they clear the current backlog of all the old applications.

sakamath said:Marriage certificate is necessary. However, it is common that parents may not have them (back in their days, it may not have been mandatory to register a marriage). If marriage certificate is not available, your parents would have to submit an affidavit signed by a notary affirming that they had married on so-and-so date, place. In that affidavit, also provide the dates they were born and the details of their children.
Do you have income complication? as we knew someone last year who waited longer and got refused as they didn't have enough income ( atleast with the required form, not sure what it was called, the one from the CRA ) and they still forwarded file to their home country like vienna or something, as something like final decision will be taken there if they want to to allowSuin said:Thank you very much for your reply. Any way...I guess that is the way it should go...no one can understand them.
