Does anyone know how long does it take for medicals to be cleared and when I should expect a passport request for my parents. My timelines are below:

Original Application - August 2009
Submitted information (forms): June 2012
Office - Ottawa Pilot
Sponsorship Approved: November 2012
Medical request and sent - Feb 8 2013

No idea ... Welcome to the waiting game

hi guys,

congratulation to everyone who got visa, landed or got good news regarding process of their case.

I have received a request from local visa office to send new PCC issued less than tree months. I already sent them a punch of PCCs 7-8 months ago without them requesting and I got very sad from this request, no request for blood work yet :(

Hi Guys,

Waiting game is not only for the immigartion process. This stressful situation continues till you receive your PR cards. My parents landed here in Canada on March 14, 2013. Still we are waiting for PR cards. The processing time for PR cards keep changing from 35 calendar days initially to 43 days now and expected to increase further up. This is their priority (new residents) processing time.

Does anybody had an issue with the PR cards? Within how many days did you get your PR cards? I am not sure whether CIC is following the timelines indicated on their website. Anybody in the same situation?

Every time you call CIC call centre you get same resoponse. Wait for two weeks.

Tx.

We have applied for the PR card on December 4th, 2012 and received it at the very end of January - close to February. Perhaps Christmas holidays did not help either.
The Ontario ID card took some 2-3 weeks, though! Hope this helps!

Hi Deekay
You should be very happy that atleast you are with your parents, thank God, its just card, just wait little bit.

Hi all, have not been here for a while (my parents got visas but have not landed yet but planning to do so soon!)
Hope other members saw progress in their cases too!

Questions to those who landed recently or about to land (parents I mean):

Do parents need to metion or declare on any form any savings / accounts and/or property left in the home country?
I know that if they bring any cash or monetary insturments (travellers checks?) with them ( $10K or more) they have to declare them at the border (like anyone) and that on the first tax return there will be some questions to complete regarding investments and property but my question is about the landing specifically.
I can not figure out where it has to be declared if anywhere?

No need to stress. We did not got Cards on 31st day as listed on the site. So Dad called CIC & same day CIC agent called us back from PR Card processing center to update us & then every other day to confirm we received it or not. We are on last leg of the CIC. Got cards on 35th day & even applied & got 10 yr US Visa, Medicals will start May 1st.

I received the GCMS notes, still not done going through all of the 49 pages, but the important things I see is Medicals- Passed, Security checks- Passed. It says for NEXT STEPS: FILE is RFV...any idea what RFV refers to.
