My question is: Do I have to maintain the minimum income through out the years

Yes. Should be able to prove that you meet LICO figure throughout the application process. Usually, at the time of the sponsorship approval stage, CIC-M may ask for updated Option C for additional years. But VO can ask for such a document at any stage of the process.

thanks Sakamath.... I could not meet minimum requirement for year 2011 so did not file much taxes in 2012, you think missing one year would matter? For 2012, I am meeting minimum requirement and filing taxes by 4/5/2013.

Last year at the time of sponcership review they asked me to show income proof from Nov-2006 to Nov-2007 (just a year before the file I put in Nov-2007) and they did not ask me any other year so technically it should not be problem for you. However I send all years but I recommand you in case if they ask you to send incomeproof then send only what year they ask and avoid showing the said year in which you do not met that criteria if you can.

I recommand you to call CIC centres and ask more peoples before concluding anything.

After I sent them income proof they approved within 7 days in last May2012.

If you have any, you could ask your spouse to co-sponsor your application. That way you would be sure that you meet the LICO for any given year.

in older forms they had whichever is longer instead of whichever comes first. so i have included history frm 18 yrs age for my parents n 10 yrs for my sis even when i filled out the new forms. and in my opinion, u shd be counting frm DOB so 18 yrs age comes first n 10 yrs period later, for ur parents! dont panic now. u can send the updated forms now n write a cover letter explaining y doing it or just wait for them to ask u. when i m in dilemma, my husband always says, " dont trouble the trouble, until it troubles you"...

he should wait till they ask, don't send anything now

Thanks. Based on your response and other bloggers notes - seems like its gonna take about 5 years total for this whole process. I applied in 2011 so I should not expect case completed by 2016, atleast.

CIC is very smart that way, if they don't ask it doesn't mean they don't know. We've seen them asking option c from folks who were on disability. If I were you, I would do something about that year

Sometimes we think we can get away but wouldnt take a chance as the whole thing can fall down after waiting for 5 years

However it doesn't mean that they will refuse the app

Yes, it does matter.., one of my friends parents case got refuse for income. They paid little less money than they suppose in taxes but they hired lawyer now for appeal.. Please don't take it nagetively but its true...
