I have a similar situation, actually worse. My parents have traveled to Canada 3 times on tourist visa, last one is still valid till mid April 2013. The ECAS shows "decision made" for last two months. I tried emailing them, no replies. Not sure if traveling delays the Visa issue or some how they wait for existing visa to expire first...no idea what is going on there.

Doesnt matter if folks have been to canada - my folks have been 5-6 times with over 1 year of stay on 2 occasions and current here since 8 months as well
Did you send case specific email as DM means passport was sent, never heard of DM and taking 2 months> fax them , email them 3-4 times

two months since decision made??? tht is pretty long time!! normally u wud get passport back in a week or so....
in my opinion, traveling can only delay the processing and not the visa stamping but u never know for sure. when did u submit passports? also from personal experience, i hv learned tht it takes much longer to get response for inquiries made using Case-Specific format. dont knw if u sent a case specific email or a general one with "urgent" in subject line. try sending another general email n express ur concerns. i m positive they will respond! if u dont mind, can u share ur timeline?

Been 4months since passports are subbmitted at NDO. No response at all. Ecas shows in process -medical results have been recieved. Can anyone tell if Travel Hostory can cause delay? It's my parents n me as a dependent. Parents been to Canada twice less then 6month stay and been to Australia once for few weeks. I have done travelling in 7counteries. Does tht makes a diff? I hav ordered gcms notes last week. Really tensed at this situation. Made enquiry via emailing and they replied that our file is pending review by visa processing team. I don't understand how does it actually works?
How long We should wait...it's already been 5yrs 5months.

I saw some other guy had to wait 45 days after DM, I think it also depend upon where they are sending passport, but still 2 month is lot. Is ur mailing address inside India or outside?

All docs been checked & our NOC being tallied against the MI, if the VO finds our case 'eligible' for Canadian PR, the file becomes 'Accepted'; and then it goes for standard background checks, viz. Exp, Quals, Adaptability, Qualitative Considerations etc.

The process involves many things. If our case file is well presented and the enclosures vouch the quality-quantity, adequate POF docs etc., there might not be a requirement of 'actually' calling the employers, references etc. The VOs have a way with that, they are experienced enough to ascertain the logical disposition of our case. But, if there are any concerns of his/her, s/he is likely to ask for additional docs, do further scrutiny vide any means [calling, visiting etc.] & might ask for an Interview.

-Culmination: When 'fully' satisfied, we get the 'Medical Request'.
-Timeframe: Can be anything around 3-8* months, for the 'fast track' system (Avg. 4-5 months).
-eCAS: Continues to Show 'In Process'.
*The older system has a queue, thus can be longer.

This is a major activity -mainly concerning our 'safe inclusion' into the Canadian Soil; vis-a-vis, Political, Socio-Econmical, Anti-Social disposition, perceived Threat to Canada's integrity etc. This gets us the SDEC, CDEC & SECCRIM.

This is a serious & time-consuming stage, involving many agencies, including CSIS, Interpol, NASC, Database Checking & touch-base with Local Police. Many things are considered here... the No. of countries visited, Applicant coming from 'certain' countries, ex-Servicemen [including Law Enforcement services], Prolonged stay in a country w/out sufficient docs to prove cause, frequent traveling to certain nations, your *Name (?), Inter-Religion/Nationality Marriages etc.

If everything is simple & straight, the file soon gets into the 'final review' stage. If there are any 'red flags', our case goes into a 'spin'. Then our file might go to the local Police/CID agencies; the outcome/timeframe of which is beyond the control of CIC. And thereby the timeframe can be anything [sometimes beyond 1yr]. But, usually this stage should be over by 5 months max. However, a point to be noted is that we can also be called for an Interview [at this stage], due to this reason.

-Culmination: Only upon security clearance we receive the PPR.
-Timeframe: Around 2-6 months. Avg. 3 months. [With new system, sometimes PPR is clubbed with Meds]

Great, then we are looking at long wait. My Father has 48 trips and about 18 of them are to US, 6 to Dubai, 7 to Canada. Mother has around 30 trips mixed with US, Canada and Dubai

So there are folks who have no travel history and yet its been 3 months since passport sent? so still security checks and imagine if that's the time frame for no history, then people with history are
Can't reverse history, but at the same time - must have good clearance else wouldn't be able to enter different countries or get visas
My father went to US every year in the 80's, my uncle was there - he went for holiday and vacation, infact once when my uncle was down here and we we went to see him off, my uncle jokingly told my father to come with him - my dad came home , picked up diners club, they all went to the airport, got the ticket and he went for 4 days to New York. I had to mention all that in activities but hopefully this is not seen negatively as to why a person is going only for 4 days

so bottom line is that the last security check is whats holding back our (i am referring to people who have sent in the medicals and passports) visas.
