CAN ANY ONE HELP ME PLS?
ND LVO ASK ME FOR ANGIOGRAPHY FOR MY FATHER
HOW TO PROCEED NOW ?
DOES IT MEAN FAILURE OF MEDICAL ?
HAVE ANY BODY DEAL WITH THIS KIND OF PROBLEM B4
SHOLD I GO TO A LAWYER?
CAN SOME ONE ADVISE ME PLS

Hi Batavia
It depends on the results of angiography and previous condition of heart.
But no need to go to a lawyer right now.
If you answer few questions then we can give our opinion more accurately.
1-did your father had a heart. Problem before going for meds ? And did you guys declared it to Panel physician?
2-if yes ,did you sent any EKG reports with. Medicals?
3-what kind of angiography it is the full one or just coronagraphs?

Don't worry may be they just saw a change in heart size and want to be sure.

When did you sent your medicals?
Best of luck and I pray to God you don't have any problems with this process. Bye

Hi
QUESTION RE SPONSORSHIP OBLIGATIONS: Does anybody know the extent of sponsorship obligations after the parents landed with regard to medical expenses in BRITISH COLUMBIA
I know that vision care, phyisotherapy, etc. need to be covered by the sponsors.
What is the situation, however, if a parent needs to receive extended care in a care facility? Or, what happens if a parent gets ill and requires for example drugs worth $1,000 per month? Does BC MSP cover those costs or are the sponsors required to pay?
Any experience or knowledge you could share would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Parents will be eligible for provincial health care coverage, like everyone else. Some provinces have a 3-month wait period, I'm not sure about BC. I know Alberta covers new PR's from day 1. Ontario also has a 3-month wait period so people usually purchase private insurance for the first 3 months.
Your parents cannot apply for welfare/social assistance, but they're free to do whatever they wish, like work, study, volunteer. If they apply for welfare, etc then you will be billed for it, etc. You're responsible for their living expenses as the sponsor. Parents usually do whatever they can to remain busy and help out their kids.

Once they get their health cards, they will receive the same care and benefits like other people with health care. If there is a 3-month wait period for provincial health care coverage, then you should obtain private insurance for first 3-months for them, just for emergency.

Other than that, just enjoy being reunited.

Can someone please advice -
Today (Feb 18, 2013) I checked my ecas and now it shows Indian Mailing address!!!!! till now it was showing Canadian Mailing address. Should we expect to receive Passports with Visas? (btw passport submitted in Nov 2012)

Hi batalvi - I think Angiography is a procedure to find out artery blockages. After the procedure, it gives the result that how many arteries are blocked and by how much percentage. After the results are reviewed by CIC's medical office, if they determine that no heart surgery is required in next 5-10 years then I think you should be safe. Otherwise, I do not know what the result would be for your parents medical.

Has your father received request for additional medical from CIC to do Angiography? May be in your father's blood test, cholestrol levels would be very high or CIC had seen something in the 1st medicals... and with age factor, CIC would have asked for additional medicals. Lawyer cannot help you until CIC gives you a final decision on your parents medical.

Hi Canvis2006 - and thanks so much for your detailed reply. I made some calls in the meantime that confirm what you say. Medication in BC gets covered after registering for the Fair Pharmacare Program, depending on income (there is a deductible and the coverage of 70% of drugs).
What I was not able to confirm 100% is the situation where a parent might need to be in a residential care facility (assisted living, or full time care). Would that be considered "social assistance" as it includes the provision of "shelter". I don't think so...but want to be sure. Better to know these things ahead of time.
However, it looks like once the parent is covered under the provincial medical program, these scenarios (which we all hope will not become reality) are covered. Social Assistance is just that - does not "cross over" into health.
Further thoughts...?
Good luck with your application. We are in Europe as well, so we may probably similar questions down the road....
thanks again!

Hi batalvi

It means you panel physician knew that there is some problem after the ECG.i am not sure he mentioned that your father is on medication or not.

In my opinion cic thinks that this condition is just caught recently during the exam and was never treated before as your father was unaware of it.
Go to a private doctor and get detailed report from there.if you find some blockage get them treated.then go to cic recommended. Cardiologist.
What I understand now is that cic want to make sure that if there is a blockage or not? And what is the latest condition of heart as it was not being treated for the problem it was having.

Can you tell me what is shrinkage of arteries there medical name of this condition.
My father had a heart attack ( myocardial infarction) like 11 years ago and what I understand that this condition is visible in ECG so we have plans to declare and show the medicine.
EKG is same as EcG.
What e mail you have for further tests or you don,t meet medical requirements?
Bye
