Good morning everyone!!!!!

I finally have good news!

We just got a letter from the embassy dated 7 Feb- they have mailed us medical forms and asking for police certificates and some other documents.

I have a question. I am sponsoring my mom+my sister. At the time of original application (june 2009) she was my mom's dependant and full time student. Now (4 years later) she has graduated and she is not at school anymore. But the embassy are asking for the proof of her being full time student.
What should we do? Just send a copy of her diploma confirming that she was a student at the time of application? Now I am thinking could they possibly reject my sister's visa? Is she still considered to be dependant?

No she is not.
But shouldn't they consider her status at the time of application (june 2009). It's not fare that they take their sweet time to process my application and she had graduated meantime.
I think I remember reading somewhere about this. Can somebody confirm????

Thanks apple-talk!

Congratulations to Jaysidhu and Veeru!!

IMO, she should not have a problem as age of a dependent (under 22 years of age and unmarried) is locked in at the time of sponsorship application.

Yeap. She shouldn't have a problem. I was also 18 at the time of the application and they didn't ask for proof of full time studies. You only have to prove if you were 22+ at the time the application was received.

BTW, guys, my passports are still with the VO. I'm so pissed off! They said it would take no more than 15 days, yet it's been almost a month. When we call them, they say that because I was 18 when I left Canada (failed refugee case) I might not have needed to pay the ARC as we did in August (they sent us a letter), so they're checking it so I can have a refund. Now, why the hell did they take this long to figure this out? ;/ And they have no deadline for that.
