With 160K backlog at the beginning of 2012 and 25K visas allotted for 2012 and 2013 each, do the math when all the backlog would be cleared. CIC is working hard within the mandate given to them. Its not easy to guess how they would tackle the backlog.

I hope the other half of 2007, 2008 are included in that - with no news, every single day is another guessing game

My impression is that, all of 2007 and half of 2008 would have been included in the 2012 quota (of course there would be exceptions) whereas for the 2013 quota, rest of 2008 and probably all of 2009 would be included. It depends on the number of applications CIC received during this period.

Also my objective was to save some 1200 dollars on me. If my parents had to go to India for visa stamping, $600 was the cost to prepone the tickets. Also, when my parents would have landed, they would not have had medical coverage for 1st three months in ON and to buy private insurance for 3 months would be additional $600. So, a total of $1200.

When my parents came as visitors in Sept, 2012 they already had returned tickets for March 2013. Also, my parents have visitors medical insurance until March. If Passports comes now with visa from Seattle hopefully in 1-2 weeks, we'll go to Buffalo and land. Within a week of landing, we'll go for Health Card application and other ID's. Ontario Health Card will come within 3 months of landing and coverage will start exactly after 90 days of landing. My parents will return to India in March as scheduled and will come back on one-way ticket in April end or early May when health cards would have arrived and coverage started. The down side is we may not receive our parents PR cards before they leave for India. I'll have to spend $100 for courier to send PR cards to India.... So, net savings of $1100.....

Hello,

I have a parent sponsorship application files in May 2008.

I received request for documents on Nov 2011. we got approved on August 2012 and our file was transferred to Ankara Turkey.

at the end of November 2012, the status in e-cas show "Start Processing".

Does anybody have any timeline for how long would it take before we being requested for Medical exam?

nanapush again I need your advice.my father sent passport copies and 2 photographs to London chic on dec 11 and received on dec 12 .he did not get copr yet.my father sent Royal Mail a4 return envelope.that was not prepaid envelope.because in passport request cic mention do not put stamps on return envelope.do u think that return envelope is not prepaid,that could be reason they did not mail copr.i called cic and chc London asked them same question, they are not giving any proper answer.any advice.

I am at the same stage as your father.
I sent off copy of passport page requested and the 2 photos to London on the 3rd January 2013. I enclosed a self addressed Special Delivery envelope as requested but did not put any stamps on it as the instructions said not to. I see my ecas status has changed to decision made on 14th January so I am expecting to get the COPR very soon. I took a note of the tracking number of the return Special Delivery envelope so I am checking daily to see if it is on its way back to me. I would wait another week or so but if still no sign of your father's COPR I would e-mail London CIC again. I will keep you posted when I receive mine.
It's a great feeling to be at the end of the long process and I hope to be able to land in March and then come back to try and sell my house.
Hope you get the good news soon.
