I have a feeling that CIC will issue most of the 25,000 visas for 2013 towards the end of 2013, and we shouldn't be expecting visas in the first half of 2013. This way they make sure that the parents come to Canada as late as possible so that the Canadian government can save hundreds of thousands of dollars in healtcare costs on these 25,000 parents. This way they still meet their goal of issuing 25,000 parent visas for 2013 since it doesn't matter in which time of the year the visa is issued. What do you guys think?
I agree with you. Most of the visa seem to be issued in 2012 in the last months of the year.

Hi luckysush,
I have very similar timelines and waiting for PPR from CPP-O. We had medicals in April. And status has been medicals received for last 5 months. No updates still.
I have very similar timelines with you. We had medicals in February and got PPR from CPP-O on Nov 1st.

Yesterday, my Ecas chabged to Decision Made and today ireceived an email taht the passport is ready.
But there it is a problem:
[i....]however (according to FEDEX Romania) the FEDEX airway bill you have submitted cannot be used.
Therefore you must initiate a "request for pick-up" with the courier.[/i]

Anyone else getting stuck with an issue like this? I did exactly what FEDEX canada told me to do and now I learn that the waybill is not good.....
Hi Kerria,
Today early morning I received too an email that the passport is ready at LVO Bucharest but that is only after 5 business days after the embassy got the passport so I am wondering id it is something wrong because in the initial message they said "15" business days.
My question after how many days you got the message the passport is ready after you sent the passport?

I didn't understand why they returned your passport without visa. Are there any issues with passport?

Oh, it is not this, sorry for being unclear:
The passport is ready to be sent (I assume with visa in it...) , but the return procedure (via FEDEX) cannot be started because of the "wrong" waybill.
I called FEDEX Canada and they gave me a control # , which I must provide to the embassy in order to deblocate the return.

As about timing: My PPR also mentioned 15 businessa days, but I know someone who got it back in only 16 calendar days (on-route time included, back & forth)
Me too, I would have been in this timeframe without this impediment.

Andrei_T, so they are gonna send the PP back in canada or your folks are in Romanai? Which courier did you use? Fedex too?

I am also in the same boat. I am assuming the we were the 'unlucky' random picks to under go deep background checks.
same here. Medical results have been received since May 14. Nothing since:( And, according to the notes, they did not start background checks :( Sigh!

Hello - has anybody had any news from Vienna? We have not heard anything since meds were done.
thanks!

I used DHL and they pick up the passport today but only tomorrow my parent most probably will get it in our hometown in Romania.
From your message seem your parents are in Canada, so I am surprised that you have to send the passport to Bucharest instead of Seattle.

Gaggi & Sonu

You guys are right.
I didn't have to worry about this not when applied in 2008 not even in 2012 april when i sent documents. my brother was still under 22 but now he is 22, welll its so nice that we all discuss here and comes to conclusion, instead of just doing it on our own & making mistakes.
Thankyou guys :)

Looks like the results of the consultation on redesigned parent & grandparent immigration program is now available, however, the link doesn't work. You can see the list of consultations in the following link, but when you click on the parent immigration one, it doesn't open. Do you guys have the same problem?

Hi guys
I have a question.
We applied our mothers application sometimes in july 2007.
They asked for medical and additional documents from Islamabad embassy in Pakistan last year in Nov.

Now her medical is expiring on 25 Nov 2012.

He Ecas says, application received on 25 Nov 2010 and medicals are received.

What does this mean?

Anyone else facing such situation?

Many thanks for the prompt answer.

There are many cases in Islamabad where the medicals of parents got expired .To some people they asked to redo the medicals and some didn't hear anything from them after the medical expiry.Looks like ISB has mind of their own and not following any new processing guidelines set out by Ottawa.
