My parents submitted their passports on Oct, 26, Today eCAS changed Application Received to "In Process".
In a week or two it will change to "Decision Made". Many congratulations.

Thank you, Snspring, rajmalhotra7, smom, rebel and Van80.

@ rajmalhotra7: my dad has military service record. Most of Koreans (males) do. So I don’t think it would be a problem for him. But my parents only travelled to states 3 times in their lives, all from Canada. They came to Canada many times from 1997, esp. my mom came like at least every year for past 7 years, and sometimes 2 times a year.

@ smom: it still says “Application Received”.

@ Van80: That’s good! Awesome!
BTW, did you get a request for a passport? I got it as “if you are a citizen from a country that is exempt from obtaining a visa to visit Canada under Regulation 190 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, you are only required to send photocopy of the biographical page of your passport”

I can confirm what parkbr says regarding passport request. We are visa exempt( from the UK) and had to send only copies of the data page of our passports.
I think it is very unfair for people who have sent their passports months ago ,not to have them back and completed yet. I hope those in that situation get completion very soon.

It is good that CPP-O is sending PPR to folks who have passed medicals in August.. I am not far away... my parents medicals were passed on August 20. May be in couple of months (worst case scenario) I'd be receiving PPR. Worst case is estimated because some applications may require lengthy background checks. My father was not in military/police but was in a government job and have extensive travel history to USA and Canada.

I am not sure there is any particular order here.
My parents meds were received by CPP-O in May 2012, No dependent on file Still no news waiting for ppr email.

Hi,

I have been following this forum for a while but never posted...I think i owe you guys this update...

Application received : June 2008 (applied in Toronto)
Additional documents request: November 2011
File transferred to Ottawa (Feb/March 2012)
Medical request on June 19th
Medical received July 15th
Request to obtain visa on October 19th, 2012

Hope this helps and best of luck to all!! Have some patience, keep the faith and good things will happen.

I think you are right about no particular order . The date of application doesn't seem to make any difference and neither does the order in which medicals were requested and received . It's hard to understand what the system is so no wonder people get frustrated .
But one thing is clear, things seem to be moving faster in general so they are getting through the backlog at last.

Congratulations to ALL!

vik_indian, same here. Medicals have been done in the Spring. Medicals received since May 14, 2012. Nothing since. The status is still "Application received". Sigh...

I see on some threads people indicated that "their parents passed the medical", Just wondering how they know that?

For me status is still showing "Application Receieved", although I received email from CPP-O that "Your medicals have been received" but nothing indicating any further.

Parents sponsorship will affect change of Status from PR to Citizenship?

Hi there heto po ang time line ko:

Sept 2011 - Mailed Documents and received at the same month but there is no reply saying that they receive the documents. Still waiting :(

My passport will be expired soon and im planning to apply citizenship but does it gonna affect my sponsoship with my parents? I was told that once you change the status you have to restart again the application. I need some help here thanks alot and God bless. :-\
