I am also not sure. Only reason that I can think off is CPP-O may want to transfer your file to LVO and have LVO to take care of these checks.

just expected CPP-O to be working on clearing the backlog - not sitting on cases...
and was upset with GCMS notes with no new info...
and my parents want to go on vacation abroad in November - December... so they are asking me if they can go or they might get passport request in November - December... and i don't know what to tell them... because i can not predict if they get passport request this year or next year...

Shuga, another thing about security checks. I spoke to a Immigration Consultant a while back. He told me that CIC may not conduct background checks for parents whose age is more than 70 or 75. I am not sure how true it is, but it sounded reasonable to me.

What are you expecting to see in your ecas update?
You should pay the RPRF in order to see the next update or to get the visa. Pay it ASAP and you will have the visa soon. Good Luck.

I was under the impression that Decision Made is not related to RPFR. My bad.

I assume you guys paid your RPRF in an early stage of your application, so that's why this subject was not of a lot of interest. Once again, I'm not on the pilot program, but on the old one.

what is CIC doing by keeping us waiting for years and years.

well - i understand what they were doing before... let's say you have a quota of 100 visas and 500 applications... so you can process only 100 applications and have to do nothing for the rest of them (400 applications)...
however i expected the scenario to change especially for CPP-O... i thought the idea was to clear the backlog and issue visas... not to sit on applications and do nothing...
is there any statistics on how many visas/decisions were made by CPP-O so far? how will they fulfill the quota?

that would be nice... but i don't think it's the case for my parents... they are 65...

Yes, the idea was clear. But I believe the process or processing steps for CPP-O are not clear enough. just my opinion.

The processes are not clear. And not only for us. They are unclear for CIC themselves. With lots of changes they went through lately, they have no idea where they are going and how to get there.
My colleagues and some other partners were meeting with Jason Kenney recently here, in Calgary, on a totally different subject, but! it is very clear that the guy is running hundred miles ahead of everyone else in hundred different directions..
So poor CIC people...really!

well... not that i disagree with you... but cic have been processing parents applications for years... and the process is more or less the same... not sure what exactly is not clear for cic...

I had this same concern but the CIC Call center representatives told me once it was valid when they received it they will not request new ones..
