I e-mailed Ottawa to change my mom's foreign address, even though my mom is in Canada.

Well Ottawa updated and sent me this e-mail:

"Updated.

If you are representing your mother, please provide an original signed Form IMM5476."

Now is there an obligation to provide imm5476. Or it's just a good idea to be a rep.

P.S - On Form IMM5476, wht should i put as "Name of Office where application was submitted" (Mississauga/Ottawa/New Delhi)
I am waiting for medical request from ottawa.

if yes, did you included your email address in the form for rep.

if yes, then they will be emailing you after sponsorship approval.

Yes, I filled the rep form. In fact, anywhere were they asked for email (parents forms, sponsorship forms or representative form) I put the same email (mine).
Interestingly, that one email I got from them lists my email address twice (that was 'application received' AOR that they sent me before sending 'application complete' and approval mailed letters)
Probably their system pulled emails from my record adn my parents record Or just a glitch

I think from my thinking they will e-mail all correspondence to the e-mail address which was written on im0008. After the approval not the one which was written on representative form

They send emails to IMM5476 on file.
Their are 2 IMM5476 files.
One for sponsorship & other for permanent residency application.

If you have not yet approved for sponsorship, they will email rep listed on 1st IMM5476 form
After approval, they send emails to 2nd IMM5476 on file (which is most likely you, unless you paid someone to complete these forms)
letters in mail could be send to your address or most likely to address listed on IMM5476.


For all those who have paid someone (Immigration Consultant) to send additional documents, I suggest you also send separate IMM5476 for your parents listing you as rep. Now they will email both you & Immigration Consultant. (no harm in doing this)

yay i finally got the approval letter today in post, it is date May 11th. ;D my file has transferred to local visa office.

I sent a sponsorship for my Mum and brother on October 2008. Got an email yesterday stating that they have received my application and I could not access my account online.

Is this a good sign? I have been up all night thinking of what might happen to our application. :'(

After submitting file in 2008 ...did you received AOR?

Did you get additional document request in NOV 2011....if yes when did you submit additional docs???

Yes, I received an AOR. Yes, I received a letter on November 2011 and submitted the additional documents on Feb 14, 2012.
