Here is my timeline for sponsoring my parents:

Applied: ... April 2008
Knowledgement received: ... April 2008
Requesting the submission of the IMM 0008 for my parent(s) with all supporting documentation from Missisauga : November 28 2011
Forms and docs sent to Mississauga: ... December 03 2011
Letter from Missisauga : sponsorship eligibility is approved and the file was forwarded to the relevant visa office
for processing (Colombia-Bogota)............................................................................ January 16 2012

They told us that the process in Colombia would take six or eigth months.

My docs we received on 23 Dec, so may be I can expect to have file transferred by mid Feb if yet all required. Of course, these timelines may not necessarily be correct.

Wow!! That's great news! Very encouraging news for others.
I was requested to send some additional documents to Mississauga which I sent Dec 5th but no replies from them yet. My parents file is already in Singapore and they have done their medical already. As I have moved from Quebec to Ontario, they have asked to send eligibility form, proof of income with paytsubs, option C print out etc. I have called the call center last Thursday but they don't see anything in the system that documents were received. They said that it takes apprx 2 months for CPC-M to open any incoming mail. Now from your update, I think that is not the case. The call center agent suggested that I send a fax asking for an update. I am not sure how fast they response to fax and what is the protocol for that.

super visa congrets buddy finally one person at least received something so we all get hope we will received the information’s soon as well, so from your response i see that they are sending the file to the original country once they approved the sponsorship latter, i thought they will send only if they need more help from the country but its good to know it will take only 6 to 8 months to get the decision.

How its possible cic-miss....get the document on Dec 03 2011 because on december 03 2011 is saturday and saturday is close.

One more thing cic-miss....started to send letter on 25th november 2011 on friday.so he got letter on 28 november 2011 monday.

In application form they need original signature how come he get back signature
form back and send same week he send??

Our on-line status changed to:

"We received your application to sponsor xxxxxx xxxxx on April 15, 2008.

We sent you a letter on January 16, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."


They sent to us a letter by post, but my son in law called them when our on-line status changed and asked them how long it will take to process it, they answered 6 to 8 months.

We live in Niagara Falls USA.....a friend from Canada live in Burlington Ontario , so he sent our application by post on Dec.02 they(Mississauga) received it on Dec.5.

I got all the documents and forms ready becausa I applied on September 2011 for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
I got the forms from the web, i do not understand your doubt about the signature.

My sister applied from canada ( ontario) for our parents,now they ask for full documentation & forms,she told me send form & other documents of mom & dad,PCC,photogrags are ready.other forms also filled,plz guide which forms I need to fill & what other supporting documents to send.

Thank you Supervisa - i checked my status - it also has changed to
"We sent you a letter on January 18, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us"

Hope it means that i'm approved... have ot received the letter yet...
