hey guys need sm info my file has been tranferred to new delhi on 24-01-2013 how long it will take for medicals n other DOCS?

So my friend got the letter at our mailing address, he is yet to scan and send but it says

If your residence period in US has been six months or longer since age of 18 an original FBI clearance is required

Now this time, do they mean OVERALL? or 6 months on each trip as notes suggest they do know he has never lived more than six months

Do I explain in letter or simply send the certificate?

If LVO has asked to submit FBI Clearance then mail it along with a copy of the letter received from LVO.

I hear you....it's all about getting the paperwork, and then it's on to new challenges. Maybe we should start a forum dealing with issues of parents landing in Canada...

the main thing is that they are with us and we worry less, all other paperwork issues in Canada are just temporary and lead to secure happy future with loved ones.

so CSQ was issued fast..did they ask for extra papers..were they hard on your income evaluation

Meds and Police Cert are already done..just waiting for CSQ and will see how it goes for Visa

I applied in August in 2009

It depends on file's condition for both Sponsor (i.e. me) and Applicant (i.e. my parents). I am from QC too and sharing my info to give you some idea:

"MEDICAL DONE": 15-July 2012 (But till today not update on cic.gc.ca online service)
Police Clearances Certificate send in Jun-2012
Request for CSQ (Quebec Selection Certificate): 20-Oct-2012 (received this request from CPP-O)
CSQ Send: 10-Nov-2012
Till today did not get any request to submit Passport.

The good news is "In Process" is showing since 20-Mar-2013 on cic.gc.ca online service.

I noticed now there is no specific sequence to see the update to predict the final decision. If your read other members case status of this forum, you will see some ppl are getting the status update for everything (Medical done, Decision Made) at the same time. Please share your timeline if possible.

I read your comment about family doctor last time as well. Unless I am not understanding or missing out on details - what is the significance or concept of confirming a family doctor. I mean, you go to one doctor, keep going to the same one and he kinda becomes your family doctor and then he will write up any test required and so on.

Rest of them is the fun part, or challenges

Yes, the highlight is "if" but then he never lived more than 6 months on a single trip, but did cumulatively, and I think that's what they mean as per the notes
I mean, I have the PCC with me so no issues as I did foresee this

You know it's strange that they give you around 45 days to get FBI, and passport is with them. So they expect us to get it sooner, fingerprinted with alternate ID and give them on time?

Above all, my fathers fingerprint came clear but my mom got lucky as out of 4 fingerprint cards, 1 which I sent to FBI was able to scan it, rest of them couldn't due to old rusty fingers

Hopefully this is the last item they ask - this paperwork BS never ends

Why are they taking to long to Decision made? Getting stressed, i am only one left from june 2008 on Parent spreadsheet. Scared now and please can anyone tell average days of getting visa? Pcc is going to exprire in 2 months if it is valid for 6 months.

P.S

FYI - Most ND LVO had to resent the paperwork with photographs which we had already sent as per Nov, 2011 letter. I was never asked to send everything, just few more details, meds and passport with no photographs
As per my GCMS notes, they mentioned about putting my parents ppt size photos in zip lock bag in repository and these were the ones I sent to Mississauga originally, which leads me to believe that they actually mail the package to India which I assumed was more like a scan/email job

In addition, they write words like the relationship between the applicant and sponsor is satisfactory considering paperwork and balanced probabilities ( I think this part is where some of of them require DNA testing as officer is not satisfied with evidence )
