If you guys remember i faxed to newdelhi requesting to receive medical request as well on Nov 28 2012. So funny they took more than 2 months to reply.
Newdelhi replied me back today through email. But no good news its the same answer i got from my MP. Anyways i am posting that email here incase you guys wana read it.

This Family Class application was received in New Delhi on 30 APR 2008. The application is currently in the queue for initial review. Hey all. I have a query again .. It's regarding dependents.. The question is that the dependents who were <22 at the time application was filed.The age was locked in at the time application was filed.. So Can they start working when they are done with their studeis? Or should rather refrain from it..Because the officer who would be handling the file would then think that since he/she is earning so that means he/she is independent.. Whereas in most of the asian countries children live with their parents and not alone. I would be glad if someone could through light on it..

I am asking this question for myself, but i am sure it will be alot of help for other people too.. Many people are still confused about the dependent thing.. I wish to have some experience before i land there because i am done with my studies, but alot people are saying dont even think about going for a job , as it is going to make you independent in the eyes of officer.. Whereas other people are of the veiw that there is no harm in working as ur age is locked in.. You can do whatever u want , but u cannot get married , that's the only thing u have to take care about..

Dependent child under 22 years of age

• Is under 22 years of age and not a spouse or common-law partner when the application is received by the CPC-V; and
• without taking into account age, the person continues to be unmarried or not involved in a common-law relationship at visa issuance or application.


Dependent child over 22 years of age and fulltime student
Since before the age of 22 or since becoming a spouse or common-law partner, the person has been

• substantially dependent for financial support on their parent(s); and
• continuously enrolled in and actively pursuing a course of study at an accredited post-secondary institution when the application is received by the CPC-V and when the visa is issued.

Dependent child over 22 years of age and unable to be financially self supporting due to a physical or mental condition
Since before the age of 22, the person has been

• substantially dependent for financial support on their parent(s) when the application is received by the CPC-V; and
• continues to be substantially dependent upon their parent(s) when the visa is issued.

Dependent children of dependent child When the application is received and when the visa is issued.


Based on the above information on CIC website, my view is as follows:

***If dependent child is under 22 years of age at the time of sponsorship application then age is Locked in. Can be working or employed and no need of continuing to be a student at the time of visa issuance but must remain unmarried.


***A dependent child over 22 years of age and full time student at the time of application must continue to be a student until visa is issued. May be married but must be able to demonstrate dependence on parents at the time of application and also at the time of visa issuance. Can be employed but must remain to be dependent on parents for major part of education and other expenses

In my view, yes you can work. I do not think there is a need to provide any info regarding your work unless you are asked for it.

If you are asked, then you must give the correct information. Hiding any information is considered misrepresentation. In my view, having a job will not affect the outcome as long as you met the requirements of being a dependent child under 22 years of age at the time of application and remain unmarried.
