This thread is not for debating intentions, motives of applicants or the policy. The purpose of this thread is to understand the application process as applications move through differenr stages and provide guidance to each other with the knowledge from own experience.

Each application is unique and some applications require additional scrutiny which delays the processing. An application received at a later date may be processed faster than the application received at an earlier date because it did not require any additional scrutiny.

If you want to go into debate neither of them.Single parent has no priority over a dependent coming with parents.It is simply a family reunion programme.On what grounds they should give priority to single parents?
Parents are just parents ,single,married or with dependents.

Not arguing lets wait and see the change (if there are any) in the parents sponsorship as soon as they open the parent sponsorship again.... They have proposed ways to identify the grounds to give priority and I really hope some of those rules put in place .. Parents are always priority but 22 year dependent in my books is not priority.. (trust me I have nothing against you.. ).. I understand you have different opinion and you are entitled to one.. so chill... cheers..

@Panjab. Dude I am cool man.. .. but if someone is studying because their immigration to Canada is not complete then there is a problem right there... ;D

Would you still think the same if you also had a 21-year old sibling who was going to be a dependent on your parent's sponsorship application? Probably, that is not the case for you, therefore it's easy to be selfish and just criticize. You being against a 21-year old immigrating here as a dependent is similar to a Canadian-born Canadian citizen criticizing you for bringing your parent to this country. And if you look at it from a different perspective, a 21-year old coming to this country is more economically beneficial for Canada in the long term than a 60+ year old parent coming here.

... I dont think any dependent 21 or older should be allowed to come with parents. They can come to Canada but they should wait longer may be 10 year to come to country. Who deserves the visa more? A 22 year dependent or a single parent ?.....

I guess your local visa office is ISLAMABAD, mine too, can you please inform what kind of documents you submitted with PCC? did they send you the forms or these forms are available online? appreciate if you can share or send me the link.

No ISB office did not send me any form. I downloaded them. Also many forms are the same that we already sent them before so not much work accept updates etc.

1. Completed IMM008
2. Schedule A (IMM 5669)
3. Additional family information (IMM 5406)
4. Completed Pakistan Nationals Form
5. Family Tree
6. Certified copy of National Identity Card and its translation
7. Certified copy of spouse death certificate
8. Certified copy of current passport
9. Certified copy of old passport
10. Original Police certificate
11. Certified copy of Family Registration Certificate

All copied are attested.

If you are expecting this letter from ISB. Then it is better to start preparing these document right now to save time. Because it took me three weeks to prepare them.

Some progrees on my parent's case. Today they received letter from LVO New Delhi for Medicals and Passport. Letter was dated 07/21/2012. I am still waiting for my dad to scan the letter and send it to me.

Tell me about it, and people here who applied in 2008 end and 2009 are venting here about the process being unfair and what not. And now when people who were complaining have received AOR from LVO all of a sudden no talk of protest and they go silent.

I believe your file was transfer to CPP-O. Still not clear how CIC will take decision on CPP-Ottawa file. Hope you will have sometning soon. At least compare to me you are in better position... LOL....

I can think of two options

1) If your parents are in Canada then you can set an appointment and visit the Officer and get the visa. (If this is at all possible)
2) If your parents are in India you simply forward your passport with the letter received from CPP-O that you have been approved to get the Visa.
